Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo S5 / K520 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LB002)
This is a 3.8V, 2800mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Lenovo S5 (K520, K520T Pro, PABX0000CN) smartphone. It replaces the original LB002 cell when capacity has degraded past usable thresholds. Dimensions are 85.90 × 62.80 × 3.68mm — verify your existing cell matches before ordering.
- S5 / K520 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One LB002 cell covers the full K520 lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S5 platform. The BMS accepted charge from both standard 5V and the device's fast-charge controller. Coulomb counter initialised correctly after one full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
A new Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage drop curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. When the phone pulls high current — active LTE, screen at full brightness, GPS — the cell voltage briefly collapses below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the reported state of charge reads 25%. The phone sees an undervoltage condition and shuts down to protect the cell. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and aligns the fuel gauge IC to the new cell curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.
Fast charging not working on the first cycle after replacement
Lenovo's proprietary fast-charge handshake between the charge IC and BMS requires the battery to present within an expected voltage window before high-current delivery is authorised. A new cell shipped in storage state often sits at 3.6–3.7V, which can fall outside the fast-charge entry window on some S5 firmware revisions. Connect the phone to a standard 5V charger and allow it to reach at least 3.85V before reconnecting a fast-charge adapter. The charge IC will then re-negotiate the fast-charge protocol and resume high-current delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lenovo S5 is showing the wrong battery percentage after I replaced the LB002 cell — it jumped from 60% to 15% in minutes. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the S5 stores a discharge curve mapped to the old cell's internal resistance profile. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell voltage, so the percentage reading becomes erratic. Run one complete discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and percentage jumps stop.
My S5 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges on the new cell — is that normal?
A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC has to work harder to push current into the cell during the first few charges, which generates more heat than you would normally see. This is most noticeable in the first two to three charge cycles and reduces as impedance drops with use. If the phone exceeds 40°C to the touch or the charger disconnects repeatedly, charge at a lower wattage until the cell is broken in.
The S5 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few months before installation — how do I recover it?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the LB002 cell dropped below 2.5V per cell the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent charging a deeply discharged cell at full current. Connect the phone to a low-current 5V charger — avoid fast-charge adapters at this stage — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC applies a trickle pre-charge at around 100mA to bring the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically 3.0V. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, the BMS has unlocked and normal charging can continue.
