Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L13D1P32)
This is a 3.8V, 4200mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50, A8-50F, and A8-50LC tablets. It replaces OEM part numbers L13D1P32 and L13T1P32. Rated at 15.96Wh, it fits the slim battery bay of the 8-inch A8-50 chassis without modification.
- A8-50 variant coverage: The A8-50, A8-50F, and A8-50LC share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all three accept this cell without adapter or rewiring.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on the A8-50 platform. The BMS communicated cleanly with the charge IC, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at both the low-voltage floor and the thermal threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: Once installed, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force power-off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using it again. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance curve; one full cycle resets it against the new cell and corrects the percentage display.
Tab 2 A8-50 shutting down at 15–25% remaining
This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the degraded original cell. The A8-50 pulls combined load from the display backlight and Wi-Fi simultaneously, which causes a sharp voltage sag. The charge IC interprets this sag as a low-voltage cutoff event and shuts the tablet down, even though the new cell has capacity remaining. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration and resolves the early cutoff.
Fast charging not available on the A8-50 after battery replacement
The A8-50 uses a proprietary charge negotiation handshake between the charge IC and the battery's BMS. On a fresh cell, the charge IC defaults to standard 5V input until one accepted charge cycle completes and the BMS registers the new cell's parameters. Plug in using the original Lenovo charger — not a third-party USB-C adapter — and allow the first charge to run uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the charge IC re-enters its normal negotiation state and full charge current resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 shows 100% then drops to 60% within minutes of unplugging — is the new battery faulty?
The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC carries calibration data from the old cell and misreads the new cell's charge curve, causing the percentage to jump erratically. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without forcing a power-off, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity and the percentage display stabilises.
The Tab 2 A8-50 feels warm near the charge port while charging after the battery swap — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth at the charge port and rear panel is normal on the first few charge cycles with a new cell. The charge IC is running a conditioning pass on the fresh Li-Polymer cell, which draws slightly higher current than a partially aged cell would. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC throttles and charging slows noticeably, disconnect and check that the charger output matches Lenovo's 5V/2A spec — an oversized third-party adapter can overdrive the charge IC on this platform.
After replacing the battery, the Tab 2 A8-50 won't turn on — just a blank screen when I press the power button.
A blank screen immediately after a battery swap on the A8-50 usually means the cell shipped at a low state of charge and the system voltage is below the boot threshold. Connect the original Lenovo charger and leave it for at least 20 minutes before pressing power — the charge IC needs enough voltage headroom to initialise the SoC. If the screen still does not respond after 20 minutes of charging, hold the power button for 15 seconds to clear any residual charge in the power rail, then attempt a normal boot.
