Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Tab4 8 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L16D1P34)
This is a 3.85V, 4750mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Lenovo Tab4 8 and Tab4 8 Plus tablets. It fits models TB-8704X and TB-8504X, among others. It replaces OEM part number L16D1P34 directly.
- Tab4 8 and 8 Plus platform fit: Both the standard Tab4 8 and the 8 Plus share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The L16D1P34 part number covers both variants, so one SKU covers the full platform without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on a TB-8504X unit. The BMS accepted charge from the first cycle, voltage held steady across the display and Wi-Fi load combined, and no overcurrent trip was triggered during start-up draw.
- Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff once, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.
Tablet shutting down between 15–25% after battery replacement
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. When the display and Wi-Fi draw current simultaneously, voltage dips sharply in the 15–25% range. The IC reads that dip as a critically low cell voltage and triggers an emergency shutdown. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a complete charge resets the calibration. After that cycle, the tablet should reach below 10% before any shutoff occurs.
Fast charging unavailable after swapping the L16D1P34
Fast charge on the Tab4 8 platform depends on a successful USB-PD or proprietary charge protocol handshake between the charger and the charge IC on the new cell. On first connection, the IC may default to standard 5V charging while it completes the negotiation. Disconnect and reconnect the charger after the tablet has been on charge for two to three minutes. If fast charge still does not activate, complete one full charge cycle — the protocol is accepted reliably from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lenovo Tab4 8 is showing 40% battery but it just shut off without warning — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC in the Tab4 8 is still calibrated to the voltage profile of your old cell. Under the combined load of the display and active Wi-Fi, voltage drops sharply in the mid-percentage range, and the IC interprets that drop as a critically low cell and cuts power. This is a calibration issue, not a fault with the new battery. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff once, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% — after that single cycle the shutoff should not occur above 10%.
The battery percentage is jumping around after I replaced the L16D1P34 — it went from 60% to 85% without charging. Is the battery faulty?
The reading is erratic because the fuel gauge IC learned the capacity curve of the old, degraded cell over hundreds of cycles. With a fresh cell installed, its reference points no longer match the actual voltage levels it is seeing. The battery itself is fine. Do one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interrupting the cycle — this gives the IC a clean dataset to recalibrate against, and the percentage readings stabilise from that point.
Fast charging worked before I replaced the battery on my Tab4 8 Plus but now it only charges slowly — what changed?
On the TB-8704X platform, the charge IC on a new cell defaults to standard 5V on its first connection while it completes the USB-PD protocol handshake with the charger. That handshake sometimes does not complete in the first session. Disconnect the charger, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect — the IC renegotiates on reconnection. If the fast charge indicator still does not appear, complete one full charge cycle to 100%; the protocol is accepted consistently from the second cycle onward.
