Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN60)

This is a 3.8V, 5800mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 and Mi Pad 4 WiFi (model numbers M1806D9W and M1806D9E). It replaces the original BN60 cell when the tablet no longer holds charge or shuts down unexpectedly. Capacity matches the factory specification at 22.04Wh.

  • Mi Pad 4 platform fit: The Mi Pad 4 and Mi Pad 4 WiFi share the same battery bay dimensions and BMS handshake protocol. Both variants run the BN60 cell on a 3.8V nominal rail with the same connector pinout, so one part covers the full lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on Mi Pad 4 hardware. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the charge IC brought voltage up through each stage without thermal cutoff events.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's voltage curve and eliminates the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a battery replacement.

Mi Pad 4 shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still referencing the voltage curve of the old, degraded cell. Under the combined load of the display at mid-brightness and active WiFi, voltage drops faster than the IC expects at that reported percentage. The tablet interprets this sag as a critically low state and triggers a protective shutdown. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that cycle the gauge recalibrates and the premature cutoffs stop.

Fast charging unavailable on Mi Pad 4 after battery replacement

The Mi Pad 4 uses Xiaomi's proprietary charge negotiation over the USB port. After a battery swap, the charge controller may default to standard 5V input until it completes one full accepted charge cycle on the new cell. Plug in using the original Xiaomi charger and cable — third-party adapters often fail the handshake entirely. Let the tablet complete one full charge uninterrupted to 100%, and fast charge will re-engage on subsequent sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mi Pad 4 says 60% battery but shuts off immediately — is this a faulty replacement cell?

The cell itself is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to the old battery's discharge curve and has not yet mapped the new cell. Under any real load — screen on, WiFi active — voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the tablet shuts down before it reaches true zero. Run a full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single cycle the percentage display tracks correctly.

The battery percentage on my Mi Pad 4 is jumping around — it dropped from 80% to 45% in minutes after the swap.

Percentage jumping after a swap is a fuel gauge drift issue, not a cell defect. The Mi Pad 4's gauge IC stores learned capacity data from the old battery and applies that model to the new cell, producing wild swings as voltage readings land outside the expected curve. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to reset its learned parameters against the BN60's actual curve. After that recalibration cycle the readings stabilise.

Fast charging worked before I replaced the BN60 — now my Mi Pad 4 only charges slowly with the same charger.

Xiaomi's fast charge protocol requires the charge controller to complete a successful negotiation handshake on the new cell before it enables higher current. After a battery swap the controller reverts to default 5V until it finishes one accepted full cycle. Use the original Xiaomi charger and cable — third-party hardware often fails the handshake entirely and locks the device at standard charge permanently. Complete one full uninterrupted charge to 100% and fast charge will re-engage from the next session onward.
