Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG CordZero R9 / R87 Series — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EAC64578401)
This 21.6V, 5000mAh (108Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the LG CordZero R9, R9MASTER, R87, and BDV1 cordless vacuum cleaners. It matches the OEM voltage rail and BMS handshake the motor controller expects. Fits models referencing part numbers EAC64578401, EAC64578402, EAC63419401, EAC63419402, and EAC63419404.
- R9 and R87 platform compatibility: The R9 and R87 share the same 21.6V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell format covers both vacuum lines — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the CordZero platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the charger, current limiting engaged at the expected threshold, and no false low-battery cutoffs occurred during sustained motor load.
- Dock charging habit for CordZero users: Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently. CordZero vacuums on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full and remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The CordZero motor draws higher current when the filter is partially blocked — the vacuum works harder to pull the same airflow. Under that sustained high draw, a degraded cell pack sags below the motor controller's minimum voltage threshold before the indicator registers low. The vacuum loses power to protect itself, even though the displayed charge looks adequate. A fresh 21.6V pack with full cell capacity holds voltage under that load where a worn pack cannot.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a fault with the motor itself. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, clogged brush roll, or a sealed floor surface — the motor demands current above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS disconnects to protect the cells, the motor stops, and after a brief thermal reset window the vacuum restarts. Check and clean the filter first. If the trip persists on a clear filter with a worn battery, the aged cells are spiking internal resistance high enough that normal motor-start draws trigger the overcurrent threshold — replace the pack and verify the restart occurs cleanly at full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CordZero R9 loses suction while the battery indicator still shows two or three bars — why does this happen with a new battery?
Even a new pack can show this if the filter is partially blocked. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current to maintain airflow, which causes voltage to sag under load — the indicator reads state of charge, not voltage under stress. Clean the filter thoroughly, then retest. If suction holds steady after that, the filter was the cause, not the battery.
The vacuum cuts out mid-clean, I wait 30 seconds, and it works again — is this a battery fault or something else?
That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip resetting after a short cooldown. It happens when sustained motor load — usually from a blocked filter or brush roll — pulls current above the pack's protection threshold. We ran this battery under restricted-airflow conditions on the bench and confirmed the BMS trips and resets correctly. Clear the filter and brush roll first; if the cutout continues on an unobstructed vacuum, the pack needs replacement.
The replacement battery charges fully but the CordZero runs noticeably shorter than the original did when it was new — what causes that?
The most common cause is a partially blocked filter forcing the motor to draw more current than rated, which burns through charge faster than normal. A second cause is that the original battery was left on the dock continuously, and that charging habit carried over — trickle charging a new pack the same way will degrade it in the same pattern. Remove the vacuum from the dock once charging is complete. If runtime is still short after clearing the filter and changing the charging habit, verify the charger is delivering the correct 21.6V termination voltage.
