Fits Infinuvo MT820 and Hovo 700 series; replaces OEM part 8542024502.
14.4V lithium-ion at 2600mAh delivers consistent motor voltage under sustained suction load.
Connector seats vertically into the dock contact plate with a single locking tab engagement.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted full charge cycles without cutoff; motor draw remained stable.
Remove this battery from the charging dock immediately after reaching full charge — continuous dock trickle charging degrades capacity faster than charge-on-demand cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Infinuvo MT820 / Hovo 700 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (8542024502)

This 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery pack replaces OEM part 8542024502 in the Infinuvo MT820 and Hovo 700 series robot vacuums. It restores full operating voltage to the drive motors and suction system after the original cell capacity has degraded. Fits MT820, Hovo 700, Hovo-700-1703, and Hovo-700-1610 platforms.

  • MT820 and Hovo 700 platform fit: These models share the same 14.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the same pack runs across all variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full discharge and recharge on the MT820 platform. The BMS held within spec under both normal floor-cleaning draws and the higher current spikes that occur when the brush roller contacts debris or transitions to carpet.
  • Dock charging on robot vacuums: Do not leave the MT820 sitting on the charging dock continuously. These units trickle-charge when docked and the cell has no way to stop it — charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the MT820

The MT820's suction motor pulls significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roller is restricted. A degraded or partially discharged cell cannot sustain voltage under that elevated load, so suction weakens while the indicator still reads mid-charge. The BMS is protecting the cell from a voltage drop below its low-cell threshold — not misreporting charge level. Clean the filter and check the brush roller before assuming the battery is at fault.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the suction path is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush, or carpet fibres bridging the inlet — the motor draws current above the pack's continuous discharge rating and the BMS interrupts output. Clearing the blockage and waiting 20–30 seconds allows the BMS to reset and resume normal output. If the cutout happens on an unblocked floor, confirm the replacement pack is fully charged to 14.4V before the next run.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MT820 suction feels weak even on a fresh charge — is the new battery the problem?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor draws more current than rated, which causes voltage sag at the cell even when it is fully charged. Remove and clean the filter, then clear any debris from the brush roller. If suction recovers after that, the battery is fine — if it does not, confirm the pack is reading 14.4V at the terminals under load.

The MT820 kept cutting out every few minutes on carpet and then starting again after I left it alone — what triggers that?

That cycling pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip. Carpet increases brush roller resistance, and if the filter is even partially blocked at the same time, current draw spikes past the pack's continuous rating and the BMS shuts output to protect the cells. Clear the filter completely, check that the brush roller spins freely, and run on hard floor first to confirm the trip stops. If it still trips on an unobstructed hard floor, the pack may not be fully conditioned — run one complete charge cycle to 14.4V before the next test.

The MT820 won't charge at all after fitting the replacement battery — the dock light just flashes and stops.

The Hovo 700 and MT820 chargers expect a BMS handshake from the pack before initiating the charge cycle. If the replacement cell arrived deeply discharged, the BMS may have entered a protection lockout and is not presenting the correct signal to the dock. Take the pack off the dock, wait two minutes, then reseat it firmly — a loose connection at the dock contacts will produce the same flashing behaviour. If the dock still refuses to charge, use a compatible Li-ion charger to bring the pack to at least 12V before returning it to the dock.
