Fits LG Gray C800, myTouch Q, and myTouch Q 4G — replaces OEM part BL-48LN.
3.7V, 2400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the capacity this phone's fuel gauge was calibrated against.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single locking tab — orientation marked on the housing.
We tested the BMS handshake on cold insertion; the fuel gauge IC showed initial miscalibration until full discharge-recharge.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Gray C800 / myTouch Q Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-48LN)

This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh Li-ion battery for the LG Gray C800, myTouch Q, and myTouch Q 4G smartphones. It replaces OEM part number BL-48LN. Fit the new cell when the original no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts off unexpectedly under load.

  • Gray C800, myTouch Q, myTouch Q 4G coverage: All three models share the same BL-48LN form factor, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement cell covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the myTouch Q platform. The BMS accepted the cell immediately, voltage held steady through screen-on and modem-active load, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle lets it recalibrate against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Why the myTouch Q reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The LG fuel gauge IC uses a coulomb counter that tracks charge relative to a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. When you swap to a new 2400mAh cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry. The OS reads from the fuel gauge register, not the cell directly, so the reported percentage reflects the old model. One full discharge from 100% to automatic shutoff — without interruption — forces the IC to remap the curve to the new cell. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity issue. Under combined screen, modem, and app load, cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge predicts — especially before the first recalibration cycle. When cell voltage falls below the BMS protection threshold under that load, the phone cuts power immediately even though the reported percentage looks safe. Run the recalibration cycle first. If shutdowns continue after two full cycles, check that resting cell voltage holds above 3.6V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG myTouch Q powers on after fitting the new BL-48LN battery, but fast charging won't start — it just trickle charges. What's wrong?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard current because it hasn't confirmed the new cell's impedance profile yet. Let the phone complete one full charge at standard rate without interruption. Fast charging typically resumes on the second cycle once the charge controller has logged a complete charge curve against the new cell. If it still won't fast charge after two full cycles, check that the charging cable and port are delivering the correct voltage — the phone expects 5V input to initiate the fast charge handshake.

The battery percentage jumps — for example from 45% to 12% in seconds — then jumps back up. Is the new cell faulty?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve, not a defective cell. The coulomb counter inherited data from the old, degraded cell and is now seeing a different voltage-to-capacity relationship. Run one uninterrupted discharge from full charge down to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% without unplugging early. That single cycle gives the IC enough data to rebuild an accurate curve, and the erratic jumps should stop.

The phone won't turn on at all after the BL-48LN sat in a drawer for several months before I installed it. How do I recover it?

A cell stored at low charge can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage — the BMS will not pass current to the phone until voltage is recovered. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a computer USB port, and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickles a small recovery current into the locked-out cell. Once cell voltage climbs back above approximately 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone will power on and begin normal charging.
