Fits Samsung Skyrocket SGH-I727 and replaces OEM battery EB-L1D7IBA.
3.7V, 2800mAh lithium-ion cell powers standard smartphone operations and modem draw.
Connector seats flush into the Skyrocket battery slot with no locking tab interference.
Bench test showed clean voltage ramp on first insertion; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Skyrocket SGH-I727 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-L1D7IBA)

This 3.7V, 2800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM battery in the Samsung Skyrocket (SGH-I727). It uses the same connector and matches the physical footprint at 56.40 × 50.80 × 11.00mm. Drop it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to get through normal use.

  • Skyrocket and SGH-I727 fit: Both model names refer to the same AT&T LTE device. The battery bay, connector pin-out, and BMS communication protocol are identical across both designations — one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the SGH-I727. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a protection fault, and the charge IC negotiated correctly with the phone's onboard power management.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. The SGH-I727's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Giving it one unconstrained cycle against the new cell prevents the coulomb counter from mis-reading state-of-charge from day one.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Skyrocket after a cell swap

The SGH-I727 modem and screen pull significant current spikes. A fresh cell with a slightly different internal resistance curve can cause voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reads zero. The phone interprets this as a hard fault and shuts down even though the reported percentage is well above empty. One full discharge-charge cycle lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's actual voltage cliff and adjust the low-voltage warning point accordingly. After calibration, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery sat long enough before installation, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — the point where the BMS locks out to prevent damage from over-discharge. The SGH-I727 will show no response at all: no boot, no charging indicator. Connect it to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. A wall adapter can push enough trickle current to bring the cell back above 2.8V, at which point the BMS releases the lockout and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Samsung Skyrocket shutting off at 25% after I put in the new battery?

This is a voltage cliff issue — the new cell's internal resistance differs from the old one, so voltage sags under modem or screen load and hits the BMS cutoff before the gauge reads zero. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the original cell. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell. Shutdowns at partial charge typically stop after that first calibration cycle.

The Skyrocket's battery percentage is jumping around erratically since I replaced the cell — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC on the SGH-I727 stores a learned discharge model for the old battery, and it takes time to recalibrate against a new cell's voltage curve. Erratic percentage readings — jumping from 40% to 55% or dropping suddenly — are the coulomb counter trying to reconcile what it expects with what it's measuring. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the gauge will stabilise. After that, percentage reporting should track smoothly.

My Skyrocket won't recognise fast charging after I installed the replacement battery — is this a defective cell?

Not defective. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the SGH-I727's charge IC may not negotiate the higher current rate with an uncalibrated BMS. The phone defaults to standard charge as a safety measure. Charge fully once at standard rate, then discharge completely, and reconnect to the charger. After that initialisation cycle, the charge IC typically re-negotiates and fast charging resumes at the expected rate.
