Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG KE770 / KF510 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGIP-410A)
This is a 3.7V, 550mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the LG KE770 flip phone and related models including the KG289, 278A, and KF510. It slots into the original battery bay and uses the same three-contact connector as the LGIP-410A. Capacity is 550mAh — identical to the factory spec.
- KE770 / KG289 / KF510 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V voltage rail, and three-pin connector layout. One cell covers the full group without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the KE770 platform. The BMS accepted charge current immediately on first insertion, and protection circuits triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff without requiring a manual reset.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the percentage indicator to read inaccurately for the first several cycles.
Why the KE770 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The KE770 uses a basic fuel gauge IC that tracks capacity by mapping voltage against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance and discharge profile, so the stored curve no longer matches. The phone reads voltage correctly but converts it to the wrong percentage. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete uninterrupted charge resets the reference points the IC uses for future reads.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the new cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under the load spike from an outgoing call or backlight burst — a voltage cliff that the fuel gauge doesn't predict from the resting voltage. It's more common on a new cell before the fuel gauge IC has completed its first calibration cycle. Run the phone down to auto-shutdown once rather than topping up from 50%. After that first full cycle, the IC recalculates the cliff point and shutdown warnings appear at the correct percentage.

Frequently Asked Questions
The KE770 died at 28% and now won't turn back on — is the battery dead?
The phone shut down because the cell voltage collapsed under load before the fuel gauge registered empty — the battery isn't dead, it's discharged below the BMS recovery threshold. Plug it into the charger and leave it for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs a trickle charge to bring the cell above its re-initialisation voltage of around 2.9V before it will pass current to the phone. If the charge indicator doesn't appear within 30 minutes, try a different charging cable and adapter to rule out current supply issues.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell accepts charge current less efficiently on the first two or three cycles, which means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat than it will once the cell is conditioned. The warmth is expected and typically drops off after the cell has gone through a full discharge-charge cycle. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, or if warmth continues past the third charge cycle, stop charging and check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.
The percentage jumps — it reads 45%, then skips to 61% a few minutes later without charging — what's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't settled on consistent reference points yet. Because the old curve is still stored, the IC oscillates between two voltage-to-percentage mappings as load and temperature shift. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a complete charge to 100% without interruption — that single cycle gives the IC enough data to overwrite the old curve and the jumping stops.
