Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

O2 XDA Stellar — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (KAS160)
This 3.7V, 1100mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original KAS160 battery in the O2 XDA Stellar. The XDA Stellar is a Windows Mobile smartphone from the mid-2000s, and finding a working cell for it is increasingly difficult. This battery restores power to the device using the original voltage and form factor.
- XDA Stellar platform fit: The Stellar uses a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal. The connector pinout and BMS handshake align with OEM part numbers KAS160, KAIS160, 35H00088-00M, and 35H00086-00M — all variants of the same pack used across this device's production run.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge and discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS held charge cutoff correctly at 4.2V and triggered low-voltage protection before dropping below 3.0V under sustained load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The XDA Stellar's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the percentage counter to read inaccurately from the first charge.
Why the XDA Stellar reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
Windows Mobile devices like the XDA Stellar use a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state by learning the cell's discharge curve over time. When you fit a new cell, the IC still references the old curve — so the percentage shown on screen does not match actual charge level. This is not a fault with the battery. One complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted full charge gives the IC enough data to recalibrate against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the XDA Stellar after replacement
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still running the old cell's voltage-to-capacity map. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under screen or radio load that the IC did not anticipate, so it cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fix is the same recalibration cycle — one full discharge to shutdown, one full uninterrupted charge. If shutdowns continue after two full cycles, check that the battery connector seats fully, as a loose contact causes voltage sag under any significant load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The XDA Stellar won't power on at all after the new battery was fitted — no response from the power button.
If the cell sat in storage for an extended period before shipping, its voltage may have dropped below 2.5V, triggering BMS lockout. Connect the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will allow normal operation. If the device still shows no response after that, reseat the battery connector and try again. A confirmed BMS recovery will show the charging indicator appearing within the first 30 minutes.
The battery percentage on the XDA Stellar jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly shows 15% a few minutes later.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve, which differs from the original cell it was trained on. The coulomb counter loses confidence in its state-of-charge estimate and reports unstable values until it has completed at least one full reference cycle. Run the phone from 100% down to automatic shutdown without charging in between, then charge fully without interruption. Percentage readings typically stabilise after one or two complete cycles.
The XDA Stellar feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new lithium-polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled cell, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage across that resistance during the initial cycles, generating more heat than usual. This is expected on the first two or three charges and reduces as the cell conditions. If the device becomes too hot to hold comfortably, or if warmth continues past the third full charge, disconnect immediately and inspect the battery connector for a short or misalignment.
