Fits LG VX1200 and LX1200 flip phones with original battery model LGLP-GMMM or equivalent OEM cell.
3.7V and 950mAh capacity match the original pack — no loss of talk time or standby duration versus factory cell.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot behind the back cover; polarity marked on the pack and phone contact plate prevents reverse insertion.
We ran a discharge curve on the bench with the VX1200 idle and under call load — the BMS voltage held steady above 3.0V until final 5%, then dropped clean without early cutoff.
On first charge after installation, let the phone sit unplugged for two hours after reaching 100% — the fuel gauge IC needs one full idle cycle to recalibrate its voltage baseline against this new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG VX1200 / LX1200 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the LG VX1200 and LX1200 flip phones. Capacity is 950mAh (3.52Wh), matching the stock specification for these mid-2000s compact handsets. It slots into the rear battery bay and connects via the original three-contact terminal.

  • VX1200 and LX1200 platform fit: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, contact layout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the VX1200 platform. The BMS accepted charge current correctly and the protection circuit tripped as expected at low-voltage cutoff — no thermal anomalies observed.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge to cutoff followed by a full charge before relying on the percentage reading. The phone's fuel gauge IC carries the old cell's discharge curve in memory and will report inaccurate percentages until it recalibrates against the new cell's actual characteristics.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VX1200 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. The fuel gauge IC still uses the old cell's discharge curve, so it reads 25% while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the threshold the phone's modem and display can sustain under load. When the screen backlight or a call draws current, voltage sags past the cutoff point and the phone shuts off instantly. One full discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its map against the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at falsely high percentages stop.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the replacement cell dropped below 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS enters a protective lockout state and blocks normal charge current. The phone will show nothing — no charging indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it undisturbed for 20–40 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current at a low rate to recover the cell voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes and the phone will power on.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG VX1200 shuts off mid-call even though the battery shows 25% — what's happening?

This is a voltage sag failure, not a percentage failure. Under the current draw of an active call, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts because the IC is still using the old cell's discharge map. The phone's modem loses its minimum supply voltage and the device cuts out. Run one full discharge to automatic cutoff followed by a complete charge — this resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve and the premature shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my VX1200 jumps around erratically after I put in the new cell — is it defective?

It's not defective. The fuel gauge IC recalibrates by measuring how the cell voltage changes under load over time, and on the first cycle it has no accurate data for the new cell. Until it collects that data, percentage readings can jump 10–15 points. Complete one full discharge-charge cycle without interruption — no top-up charges midway. After that cycle the IC has enough reference data to track the new cell accurately and the erratic readings settle.

My VX1200 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

Some warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected. A fresh high-impedance cell causes the charge IC to work slightly harder as it pushes current into a cell it hasn't yet characterised. If the phone is warm to the touch but not hot, that's within normal range. If the back of the phone becomes uncomfortable to hold, remove it from the charger and let it cool — then charge at room temperature away from soft surfaces. The warmth typically reduces after two or three full cycles as the cell's internal impedance settles.
