Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Orange SPV M3000 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WIZA16)
This is a 3.7V, 2800mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Orange SPV M3000 Windows Mobile smartphone. It replaces the original WIZA16 battery when the existing cell no longer holds adequate charge for daily use. Physical dimensions are 51.86 × 38.97 × 12.48mm — confirm these against your existing battery before fitting.
- SPV M3000 fitment: The M3000 uses a single-cell 3.7V pack with a proprietary connector pinout that carries both charge control and fuel gauge data lines. This replacement matches that pinout so the phone's charge IC and gas gauge IC can communicate with the new cell correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under load conditions that reflect the M3000's combined radio, screen, and PDA workload. The BMS held cutoff voltage cleanly and did not trip under the draw spikes the GSM modem produces.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after fitting, run the battery down to automatic shutdown and then charge uninterrupted to 100% before resuming normal use. This gives the coulomb counter a full reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before the phone starts making state-of-charge calculations.
Why the SPV M3000 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The M3000's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour, so the percentage reading drifts from the real state of charge. The gauge recalibrates by observing a complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge. Until that cycle completes, expect the percentage display to read high or low by a noticeable margin.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the load threshold faster than the fuel gauge predicts — particularly when the GSM radio transmits or the backlight draws peak current. The BMS sees voltage fall under 3.0V and cuts output before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a fault with the replacement cell; it means the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's voltage-under-load curve. One full discharge-charge calibration cycle typically moves the shutdown point back to below 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SPV M3000 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Most likely the cell dropped below 2.5V while in storage and the BMS locked out to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC on the M3000 will trickle current into the cell at a low rate to bring it back above the BMS recovery threshold. If the charging indicator appears and the phone eventually boots, the cell has recovered. If nothing happens after 45 minutes on charge, the cell discharged too deeply for the BMS to recover it.
The battery percentage on my SPV M3000 jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 85% and back within minutes.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a discharge curve it has not yet learned. The original cell's curve is stored in the gauge's memory and the new cell behaves differently under load, causing the coulomb counter to correct itself mid-use. Run the phone down to auto-shutdown from a full charge without interruption — one complete cycle gives the gauge enough data to lock onto the new cell's actual curve. The jumping should stop after that reference cycle completes.
The SPV M3000 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell accepts charge less efficiently on the first few cycles, which means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat than it will once the cell has been conditioned. The warmth is coming from the charge circuitry, not a fault in the cell itself. Keep the phone out of a case for the first two or three charges so heat can dissipate freely. If the phone gets hot to the point of being uncomfortable to hold, disconnect the charger and let it cool before continuing.
