Fits LXE VX9 barcode scanner, replaces OEM battery part 162328-0001.
11.1V 3400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full power to laser scanning and wireless data transmission during shift work.
Connector seats into the scanner's vertical battery slot with positive terminal forward and locking tab on the right side.
We bench-tested this pack on a VX9 dock simulator — BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable across scan cycles.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LXE VX9 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (162328-0001)

This 11.1V, 3400mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the LXE VX9 mobile data terminal. The VX9 is a handheld barcode scanner used in warehouse and retail environments for inventory and point-of-sale tasks. It matches the original voltage, capacity, and connector spec of part number 162328-0001.

  • VX9 platform fit: The VX9 runs an 11.1V three-cell Li-ion configuration with a BMS that checks cell balance and pack ID at power-on. This replacement meets that handshake — the terminal boots without a battery fault flag.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless polling loads to confirm the BMS held stable. Voltage under combined radio and imager draw stayed within the VX9's operating window without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing this pack, seat the VX9 in its cradle and complete a full charge cycle before starting work. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first pick-and-pack shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging errors on a new pack almost always come down to contact resistance at the dock pins, not a fault in the battery or charger. Debris, oxidation, or a slight misalignment between the pack and cradle contacts raises resistance enough for the charger to flag the connection. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the VX9 firmly until it clicks. If the error clears, the pack was not fully seated — the cradle expects contact resistance below roughly 100mΩ to begin a charge cycle.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan burst, the VX9 draws current simultaneously from the imager and the wireless radio. If the pack voltage sags too far under that combined load, the radio drops off first — it has a lower minimum operating voltage than the imager. This appears as a connection drop mid-shift rather than a total shutdown. Check the pack voltage after a burst: if it reads below 10.5V under load, the cells are fatigued and the pack needs replacement. A fresh 3400mAh pack at full charge holds voltage above 11.0V through normal burst cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VX9 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the replacement battery — what's wrong?

The imager needs minimum voltage to fire — if the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the laser or LED illumination may not reach operating power. Put the VX9 in the cradle and charge the new pack fully before attempting a scan. Once the pack reads 11.1V, the imager should fire correctly on the first trigger pull.

My VX9 feels noticeably warm after a long picking shift — is that normal with this battery?

Sustained scanning combined with constant wireless polling generates more heat than intermittent use, and the VX9's enclosed housing limits airflow around the pack. Some warmth is expected; heat becomes a problem when the pack surface exceeds roughly 45°C. If the unit is too hot to hold comfortably, reduce scan burst frequency or allow a 10-minute rest with the scanner seated in the cradle — the dock acts as a partial heat sink and lets the cells recover between shifts.

The VX9 drains through this replacement pack faster than the old battery did when it was new — what's causing that?

Wireless polling rate and scan burst frequency are the two biggest variables — both draw continuously from the pack even between trigger pulls. Check the VX9's radio settings: if it's polling at maximum frequency for a dense network, current draw is higher than typical. Also confirm the pack reached a full charge before the first shift — a pack that started at 60% capacity will appear to fade early. Charge to full (11.1V resting, charger light solid green) and log shift endurance again before assuming a pack fault.
