Fits LXE VX9 handheld scanners and replaces OEM part number 162328-0001.
11.1V 2600mAh lithium-ion chemistry delivers consistent power during rapid barcode scan bursts and wireless data transmission cycles.
Slide-lock connector seats into the VX9 battery bay with a single forward motion and locks with a positive click.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted a full charge cycle in the LXE cradle dock without fault codes or contact resistance issues.
After installing this cell in the VX9, place the scanner in its cradle for one complete charge cycle before first shift use — scan trigger current draw is highest at minimum voltage and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS cutoff during rapid burst scanning.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LXE VX9 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (162328-0001)

This is an 11.1V 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the LXE VX9 handheld mobile computer. It fits the VX9 directly using OEM part number 162328-0001. The VX9 is a rugged enterprise scanner used in warehouse pick-and-pack and retail inventory workflows.

  • VX9 platform fit: The VX9 draws power across three simultaneous loads — the barcode imager, the wireless radio, and the touchscreen backlight. All three share the same 11.1V rail. This pack matches that rail exactly, so the BMS communicates with the device without calibration errors or false low-battery warnings.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst sequences on the VX9 bench unit. The BMS held the discharge floor without nuisance trips during combined imager and radio inrush events. Capacity measured at 2600mAh across three full cycles.
  • First-shift conditioning on the VX9: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before deploying it on a shift. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack on day one prevents false BMS cutoffs during the first pick cycle.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

LXE cradles read pack state through the dock contacts before initiating the charge cycle. If contact resistance is too high — from oxidation, dust, or an incomplete seat — the dock flags an error instead of charging. This is not a fault with the battery cell itself. Wipe the gold contact pads on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and the error clears at under 0.5Ω contact resistance.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan sequence, the VX9 pulls current simultaneously from the imager and the 802.11 radio. That combined inrush can cause a momentary voltage sag on a partially depleted pack, which the radio module interprets as a power fault and drops the connection. A pack below roughly 10.5V under load is the usual trigger point. Charge the pack above 11.0V resting voltage before a high-throughput shift to keep the radio stable.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VX9 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

The imager laser or LED array needs the pack above a minimum voltage threshold before it will fire. If the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the VX9 may power on but the imager won't activate reliably. Seat the pack in the cradle and run a full charge cycle first. Once resting voltage is at or above 11.1V, the scanner will read normally.

The cradle is flashing a charging error with the new pack installed — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a cell fault. LXE cradles check the dock contacts before starting a charge sequence, and any oxidation or debris on the gold pads breaks that handshake. Remove the pack, wipe the contact pads on both the pack and the cradle dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack with firm downward pressure until it clicks.

The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours on the warehouse floor — is that normal?

Sustained combined draw from the barcode imager, 802.11 radio, and touchscreen backlight generates heat inside the VX9's enclosed housing. Some warmth is expected, but if the housing is too hot to hold comfortably, the pack is likely discharging faster than the duty cycle allows. Rotate to a second pack mid-shift and let the warm pack cool for 15 minutes before recharging — charging a heat-soaked Li-ion pack degrades cell capacity faster.
