Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lydsto R1 Edge — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (260V-4S1P)
This is a 14.4V, 2600mAh (37.44Wh) Li-ion battery for the Lydsto R1 Edge robot vacuum cleaner. It replaces the original 260V-4S1P pack when the existing cell degrades, fails to hold a charge, or triggers persistent low-battery warnings mid-clean. Voltage and connector match the R1 Edge charging and motor circuit.
- R1 Edge platform fit: The R1 Edge runs a 4S1P cell configuration on a 14.4V nominal rail. This pack matches that topology — four cells in series, same connector pinout, same BMS handshake the dock charger expects on reconnection.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through a motor-load simulation, including sustained high-draw passes representing carpet mode. The BMS held cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold and recovered cleanly on reconnection to the dock charger.
- Dock charging habit on the R1 Edge: Do not leave the R1 Edge sitting on its charging dock indefinitely between cleaning sessions. Continuous trickle charging on robot vacuums degrades cell capacity faster than standard cycle use. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next session.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the R1 Edge
The R1 Edge motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter or clogged brush roll pushes amp draw well above the rated operating load. Under that extra draw, a degraded or low-capacity cell sags in voltage faster than the indicator circuit registers. The vacuum loses suction noticeably while the display still shows adequate charge. Clean the filter and check the brush roll before replacing the battery — if suction recovers, the battery was masking a restriction issue.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. The protection circuit cuts the output when sustained current draw exceeds its threshold — typically triggered by a blockage, a jammed brush roll, or a heavily restricted filter forcing the motor to labour. The BMS resets automatically once load is removed and cell voltage recovers above the trip threshold, which is why the vacuum powers back on after sitting idle. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and restart — if the trip repeats on clean surfaces with a new battery, the motor itself may be the fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lydsto R1 Edge has noticeably less suction now but the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's happening?
A degraded battery sags in voltage under motor load before the indicator registers it as low — the display reads charge state, not real-time voltage under draw. A partially blocked filter compounds this by forcing the motor to pull more current than it was rated for, accelerating the sag. Clean the filter first; if suction improves, that was the primary cause. If suction remains weak even with a clean filter and a new battery installed, check the brush roll and air path for a secondary blockage.
My R1 Edge shut down mid-clean and now won't charge on the dock — the charge light just blinks and stops.
This usually means the BMS has tripped into deep-discharge lockout after the cell voltage dropped below the recovery threshold. The dock charger sends a handshake signal expecting a BMS response — if the pack is too far discharged, the BMS won't respond and the dock stops the charge attempt. Try leaving the vacuum seated on the dock for 30 minutes without disturbing it; some BMS controllers will accept a trickle wake current at that point. If the light continues to blink and no charge is taken, the original cell has failed and the 260V-4S1P replacement pack is the next step.
The replacement battery charges fully but the R1 Edge runs noticeably less than it used to on a full charge — is the new battery faulty?
A new cell running short of the expected runtime on a clean vacuum almost always points to a restricted airflow path, not a faulty pack. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws above its rated current the entire session — that increased load pulls the 2600mAh capacity down faster than normal operation would. Remove, wash, and fully dry the filter before the next charge cycle. If runtime remains short with a confirmed clean filter, check that the brush roll spins freely without resistance.
