Fits VDO Dayton MS2010AUS GPS navigator; replaces OEM part ICP1034501S1PSPM.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1800mAh delivers 6.66Wh total energy for sustained navigation operation.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with single locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
We bench-tested this cell in the MS2010AUS platform; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes or voltage regulation issues.
After fitting, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before active navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes versus under one minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VDO Dayton MS2010AUS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICP1034501S1PSPM)

This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell for the VDO Dayton MS2010AUS portable GPS navigator. It replaces the original ICP1034501S1PSPM battery when the unit no longer holds enough charge for a full navigation session. Dimensions are 51.63 x 34.19 x 10.44mm — measure your original cell before fitting.

  • MS2010AUS platform fit: The MS2010AUS uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion configuration with a protection circuit matched to this form factor. Swapping in a cell with a different footprint or nominal voltage will cause BMS rejection or connector stress.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MS2010AUS platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault flags. Charge termination occurred correctly at 4.2V and low-voltage cutoff engaged at the expected threshold.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors with a clear view of the sky. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS battery indicator showing full charge but shutting off without warning

The MS2010AUS uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate remaining charge. After a battery swap, the on-screen indicator is uncalibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. The unit can hit its low-voltage cutoff before the indicator has stepped down to one bar — which is why the device appears to shut off from a half-full display. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles to let the firmware recalibrate the threshold mapping. After that, the indicator will step down more accurately before the 3.0V cutoff is reached.

Saved routes and POIs missing after battery replacement

Some route data and points of interest on the MS2010AUS are held in battery-backed RAM rather than permanent flash storage. When the battery is fully removed, that RAM loses power and the stored data is wiped. Map tiles and firmware survive because they live on the internal flash, but custom routes and saved favourites may not. Before swapping the cell, export any critical routes via the USB connection to a PC so you can restore them after the new battery is fitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VDO Dayton MS2010AUS takes ages to find satellites after I put in a new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery cuts power to the GPS receiver, which clears its cached satellite almanac and forces a cold start. The unit has to download a fresh almanac from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power cycles warm-start in under a minute once the almanac is stored again.

The MS2010AUS shuts off without warning even though the battery indicator still shows charge — why?

The charge indicator on this unit reads voltage thresholds, and after a battery swap it hasn't calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. The low-voltage cutoff at 3.0V can be hit before the display has stepped down to a low-battery warning. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles and the firmware will remap its threshold steps to the new cell's behaviour.

My GPS drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to when it's just sitting on the desk — is the battery faulty?

It isn't faulty. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full poll rate, keeps the backlit display on continuously, and processes map rendering — all at the same time. Standby draws only a fraction of that current. If drain feels excessive specifically at maximum screen brightness during routing, drop the display brightness one or two steps; that alone cuts the display's current draw significantly and extends usable charge per session.
