Fits Manta MS1701, TEL2405, and TEL2408 phones using JB-4C battery connector slot.
3.7V at 900mAh delivers enough current for calls and standby without throttling the modem.
Connector slides into the original battery bay with a single locking tab on the left side.
We ran five charge cycles on a Manta test unit — the BMS accepted input voltage immediately without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Manta MS1701 / TEL2405 / TEL2408 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (JB-4C)

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replacing the JB-4C battery in the Manta MS1701, TEL2405, and TEL2408 smartphones. It restores power to devices where the original cell has degraded, swollen, or stopped holding a charge. Dimensions are 53.00 × 34.00 × 4.80mm — confirm these against your existing cell before installing.

  • MS1701, TEL2405, TEL2408 fit: All three models share the same JB-4C form factor, connector pinout, and voltage rail. The BMS protection circuit on each device expects a 3.7V nominal cell with the same physical footprint — swapping between models is not required, but the cell seats identically in each.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering overcurrent or over-voltage cutoff. Charge termination occurred correctly at 4.2V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable fast charging if your variant supports it, then run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages — skipping this step is why most users see percentage jumps in the first two days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Manta MS1701 after a cell swap

A new 900mAh cell has a different internal resistance profile than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. Under peak load — screen on, mobile data active — voltage can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the gauge still reads 20–30%. The phone cuts out not because the cell is empty, but because instantaneous voltage dropped under load. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and usually resolves this within two to three cycles.

Battery percentage jumping erratically after replacement

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. After swapping to a fresh 900mAh cell, the stored curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour — so the reported percentage jumps as the IC tries to reconcile mismatched data points. This is not a faulty cell. Charge the phone to 100%, allow it to discharge fully without interruption, then charge back to 100% uninterrupted. After that single cycle, the IC rewrites its reference curve against the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Manta MS1701 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

A Li-ion cell stored discharged can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The device won't respond to the power button in this state. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the BMS recovers, the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the 3.0V threshold and the lockout clears.

Fast charging stopped working on the TEL2405 after fitting the new JB-4C cell — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may fall back to standard 5V charging while it validates the new cell's impedance signature. This is normal behaviour — the proprietary charge negotiation protocol re-establishes itself once the IC confirms the cell is stable. Run one full charge to 100% at the slow rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Fast charge protocol typically re-engages from the second cycle onward.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after fitting this cell.

A new high-impedance cell dissipates more energy as heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC is pushing current into a cell with higher internal resistance than the worn original, which generates more heat at the cell surface. This is most noticeable in the first three to five charge cycles and diminishes as the cell's internal resistance settles. If the phone stays warm beyond five full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a poor contact forces the IC to compensate with higher current draw.
