Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion Akoya X7811 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is an 11.1V, 6600mAh (73.26Wh) Li-ion battery for the Medion Akoya X7811 notebook. It slots into the same bay as the original cell and connects via the same multi-pin connector. If your original pack no longer holds charge through a normal work session, this is the direct replacement.
- Akoya X7811 platform fit: The X7811 uses an 11.1V three-cell Li-ion configuration with a BMS that handshakes on the SMBus data line. This cell matches that voltage rail and communicates over the same protocol so the laptop's power controller recognises it without error flags on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, monitoring BMS communication across the data line. The pack reported state-of-charge correctly, accepted a full charge without cutting off early, and the protection circuit responded at expected cutoff thresholds.
- First-cycle calibration on the X7811: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on the Akoya series.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting a new cell
The X7811 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers on the battery pack. When a new cell arrives, those registers contain factory defaults that do not match the BIOS's learned profile from the old pack. The system flags this mismatch as degraded health — it is a data conflict, not a faulty cell. Run the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycle once, and the BIOS rewrites its learned values against the new cell chemistry.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This is a voltage cliff symptom. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track, so the reported percentage and actual deliverable energy diverge. The BMS trips the cutoff before the gauge reaches zero because the cell can no longer sustain the voltage rail under load. Two full calibration cycles — discharge to hibernate, charge to 100% — let the fuel gauge IC re-map the discharge curve and correct the early cutoff. After calibration, confirm the cell rests at 12.5–12.6V fully charged before reseating it.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Medion Akoya X7811 shows battery health as "poor" right after fitting the new cell — is it defective?
It is not defective. The X7811 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers stored on the battery pack, and a brand-new cell carries factory defaults that do not match the BIOS's saved profile from the old battery. The system flags that mismatch as poor health. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the BIOS rewrites its learned values and the warning clears.
The fuel gauge on my X7811 is jumping around wildly — showing 60%, then 80%, then 45% within minutes of unplugging. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC needs to map its discharge curve against the new cell's actual chemistry, and until it does, readings are erratic. This is normal for the first two to three cycles after a cell swap. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate then full-charge cycles without interrupting the charge. After that the gauge IC has enough data to track the new cell accurately.
Windows shows the X7811 battery as 73Wh but the laptop's system info reports a different Wh figure — which is correct?
The figure in Windows Energy Report pulls from EEPROM data embedded in the battery's firmware, which reflects the rated chemistry specification used during manufacturing. The 73.26Wh value in the product specification is the actual measured capacity of this cell. Minor discrepancies between EEPROM-reported and real-world Wh are normal across replacement cells — they do not affect charge behaviour. If you need to verify actual capacity, check the Wh reading again after two full calibration cycles, when the fuel gauge IC is properly synchronised.
