Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus F3Jv Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (90-NFY6B1000Z)
This is an 11.1V, 6600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Asus F3Jv and F3 series notebooks. It fits the original battery bay directly and matches the OEM voltage and connector spec. Capacity is rated at 73.26Wh.
- F3 and Z-series platform compatibility: The F3Jv, F3E, F3T, Z94, Z96, and related models all run the same 11.1V three-cell architecture with the same BMS handshake protocol. That shared electrical spec is why one cell works across this entire platform — not marketing grouping.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full discharge, and BMS re-initialisation on F3-series hardware. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-cell voltage and the charge controller accepted the new cell without throwing a fault code.
- First-cycle reset on F3Jv: After installing this battery, run one full discharge down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
Why the F3Jv BIOS reports poor battery health immediately after a swap
The BIOS reads health data from an EEPROM register that holds values written by the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that register still holds the old degraded data. The BIOS sees a mismatch between the fresh chemistry and the stored cycle count, and flags it as poor health. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted recharge forces the firmware to rewrite the register against the new cell. After one to two full cycles, the health reading normalises.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge is still using the old cell's discharge profile, so it misreads the remaining charge and the laptop cuts power before the real battery floor. It is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two or three complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by full uninterrupted charges. By the third cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the shutdowns stop — the gauge should track correctly down to around 10.5V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My F3Jv shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" in Windows immediately after install — is the cell dead?
The fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data from the old cell and has not yet mapped the new cell's voltage curve. The cell is not dead. Charge it fully without interruption, then let it discharge completely to hibernate cutoff. Repeat that cycle twice and the gauge will re-anchor to the new cell — the 0% or unknown reading clears on its own.
Windows Battery Report is showing the wrong Wh rating for this cell — it says something much lower than 73.26Wh.
The Wh figure in Windows Battery Report pulls from the EEPROM's design capacity register, which still holds the old cell's rated value — not the actual chemistry in the bay. This is a data mismatch, not a faulty cell. After two full calibration cycles, the fuel gauge IC updates its full-charge capacity estimate and the reported Wh figure moves closer to the actual 73.26Wh rating.
The battery charged to 80% and stopped — the charging indicator went off and Windows says "plugged in, not charging."
Some F3-series BIOS versions include a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during long periods on AC power. Check the Asus Power4Gear or MyASUS utility — there is a battery care mode toggle that enforces the 80% ceiling. Disable that setting, unplug, and plug back in. Charging will resume to 100%.
