Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu 16T / M928Q / M1928 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA928)
The BA928 is a 3.85V, 4400mAh Li-Polymer cell for the MeiZu 16T, M928Q, and M1928 smartphones. It replaces the original battery when capacity has dropped or the cell no longer holds charge. Dimensions are 76.90 × 67.40 × 4.66mm — verify your bay clearance before fitting.
- 16T, M928Q, and M1928 compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell SKU covers all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BA928 through charge and discharge cycles on the 16T. The BMS accepted the cell without error codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold — no runaway events observed.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before enabling it again. The fuel gauge IC in the 16T calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve on that first cycle — skipping this step causes percentage errors and early-shutdown faults.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MeiZu 16T after a cell swap
The 16T's Exynos SoC draws a sharp current spike when the modem transmits or the display peaks at full brightness. A new, uncalibrated cell can dip below the BMS cutoff voltage under that load even when the OS still reports 20–30% remaining. The fuel gauge IC is still referencing the old cell's discharge curve, so it reads the state of charge incorrectly. Run one full uninterrupted discharge cycle — letting the phone reach 1–2% before plugging in — and the coulomb counter resets to the actual cell capacity.
USB fast charge not activating on first cycle after replacement
MeiZu's proprietary fast-charge handshake checks impedance on the new cell before allowing high-current delivery. On a fresh BA928, cell impedance reads slightly higher than the threshold — the charge IC defaults to 5V standard charging as a safety fallback. This is normal and clears after the first full charge cycle as the cell conditions. If fast charge still does not activate after two full cycles, check the cable — the protocol requires a certified MeiZu or USB-PD 3.0 cable, not a generic 5V cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MeiZu 16T shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new BA928 — is the replacement cell faulty?
It is almost always a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The 16T's coulomb counter is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misjudges the remaining charge and the BMS cuts power when voltage sags under modem load. Run one full discharge — let it reach 1–2% — then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that cycle the shutdown threshold should align with actual cell voltage.
The battery percentage on my 16T jumps around erratically after fitting the BA928 — it skipped from 60% to 41% in two minutes.
Erratic percentage jumps point to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell chemistry profile. The IC uses a stored discharge curve from the original cell; until it gathers enough data points from the new BA928, its state-of-charge estimates are unreliable. Complete two full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycles without the phone going into low-power mode mid-cycle. The coulomb counter stabilises once it has mapped the BA928's actual voltage-to-capacity curve.
The 16T gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges with the new BA928 — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first two or three charges is expected. A new Li-Polymer cell starts with slightly elevated internal impedance, which causes the charge IC to dissipate more heat than usual as it pushes current into the cell. Impedance drops as the cell cycles, and the warmth reduces. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold — above roughly 45°C — stop the charge, let it cool, and check that the battery connector is fully seated with no debris under the contacts.
