Fits ZTE Nubia Red Magic 3s NX629J, replaces OEM part Li3949T44P6h996644.
3.85V and 4900mAh rating delivers the original charge capacity to the Snapdragon processor and 6.39-inch display without voltage sag under load.
Connector seats into the stock FPC slot with a single press — no adhesive residue cleanup needed if the old cell came clean.
We bench-tested this cell on a Red Magic 3s motherboard; the BMS initialized without fault codes and held voltage steady through a full discharge cycle.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Nubia Red Magic 3s — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3949T44P6h996644)

This is a 3.85V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the ZTE Nubia Red Magic 3s (NX629J) smartphone. It replaces OEM part Li3949T44P6h996644 and restores power to the display, processor, and all onboard systems. Fit this cell when the original no longer holds a full charge or fails to power the device.

  • NX629J platform fit: The Red Magic 3s uses a fixed battery connector and BMS handshake tied to the NX629J board. This cell matches the physical footprint at 96.84 × 65.10 × 4.16mm and the 3.85V nominal voltage rail the charge IC expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge on the NX629J board. The BMS accepted the cell, charge termination fired correctly at full voltage, and no protection trips occurred during load cycling on the display and modem.
  • First cycle fast-charge protocol: After installation, disable fast charging and complete one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Red Magic 3s after a battery swap

The NX629J fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old cell after a swap. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC doesn't recognise, it reports remaining capacity incorrectly and can trigger a protective shutdown. This happens most often under modem or GPU load, where current draw causes a brief voltage sag the uncalibrated gauge reads as cell depletion. Run one full discharge to near-zero, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to let the coulomb counter reset its reference points.

USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

The Red Magic 3s charge IC negotiates fast-charge current with the BMS on the incoming cell before stepping up voltage. On a fresh cell at low state of charge, the BMS may limit current until it completes an initial validation handshake. This causes the phone to show standard charge speed even when plugged into a fast charger. Allow the first charge cycle to complete at whatever rate the system accepts — fast charging typically activates from the second cycle onward once the BMS clears the handshake.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Red Magic 3s shuts off at around 25% after I put in a new battery — why does this happen?

The fuel gauge IC on the NX629J board is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. When the new cell's voltage dips briefly under modem or display load, the gauge misreads it as empty and cuts power. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it fully to 100% without interruption. After that full cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

The Red Magic 3s battery percentage jumps around erratically after I replaced the cell — is the new battery faulty?

It is not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against a discharge curve it has never seen before. Until it logs enough charge and discharge data from the new cell, reported percentage will jump or stall at certain levels. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge rate and the readings stabilise as the IC builds an accurate curve map.

The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage before I installed it — what do I do?

If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current to the device. Plug the phone into its original charger and leave it connected for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, usually around 3.0V, at which point the BMS releases and the phone boots normally.
