Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MetroPCS HWM931 / Premia 4G — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BCC1023)
This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the MetroPCS HWM931, HWM931-R, and Premia 4G smartphones. It carries OEM part number BCC1023 and matches the original cell's voltage and physical footprint. If your Premia 4G no longer holds a charge through the day, this cell swaps directly into the battery bay.
- HWM931, HWM931-R, and Premia 4G compatibility: All three model designations share the same Huawei-based hardware platform, the same 3.7V battery bay, and the same BCC1023 connector pinout — so one cell covers all three variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the HWM931 platform and confirmed the BMS handshake completes without fault codes. Charge current ramps normally and the protection circuit trips correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first charge onward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Premia 4G after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC inside the phone was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the modem or screen pulls a high current burst, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects at that state of charge. The phone interprets the voltage sag as an empty cell and shuts down — even though capacity remains. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and realigns the gauge to the new cell's actual curve.
USB charging not recognised on the first cycle after replacement
A new BCC1023 cell arriving at a low state of charge can sit below the threshold the charge IC needs to initiate a normal charging session. The phone may show no charging indicator or cycle the screen on and off. Connect the device to a wall adapter — not a PC USB port — and leave it undisturbed for 15–20 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it crosses approximately 3.0V, at which point the normal charge cycle starts and the indicator appears.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Premia 4G shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The phone's fuel gauge IC was trained on the old cell's discharge curve and cannot accurately predict the voltage drop of the new BCC1023 under load. When the modem spikes current draw, voltage sags faster than the gauge expects and the phone cuts power. Run one full discharge — let it shut itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my HWM931 is jumping around after the replacement — it was at 60%, jumped to 80%, then dropped to 40% in minutes.
That is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. The coulomb counter lost its reference point when the old cell was removed and is now estimating state of charge against a discharge curve it has not yet measured on the new cell. It settles after one or two complete discharge-charge cycles. Do not interrupt charging during those first cycles — a partial charge extends the recalibration period.
The phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge after installing the BCC1023 — is that normal?
A new cell at a low state of charge presents higher internal impedance than a partially cycled cell. The charge IC pushes current into that resistance, and some of that energy dissipates as heat. Warmth during the first charge is normal and typically drops off by the second cycle as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from the charger and let it cool to room temperature before continuing.
