Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Ascend Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HB5N1 / HB5N1H)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Huawei Ascend smartphone range. It fits the Ascend G300, G302D, C8812, and dozens of related models that share the same battery bay and connector. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the phone through a normal day.
- Ascend G300 / G302D / C8812 platform compatibility: These models share an identical battery compartment, contact strip layout, and BMS handshake protocol — the HB5N1 and HB5N1H part numbers are interchangeable across the entire family without any firmware or connector conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a G300 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell without a protection trip, charge current stepped correctly from bulk to taper, and the phone reached a clean 4.2V termination voltage.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before resuming high-current charging. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before fast charge pushes unmetered current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Ascend after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. The Ascend's modem and display pull significant current during active use, and a fresh cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can show 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under that load. The phone shuts off to protect the cell even though the percentage gauge hasn't reached zero. Run one full discharge — let the phone shut itself off naturally — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the coulomb counter re-anchors to the real cell curve and the premature shutdowns stop.
OS reporting incorrect or jumping battery percentage after replacement
The fuel gauge IC on the Ascend is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is reading voltage-to-capacity ratios that no longer match the new cell's chemistry, so the percentage can jump erratically or read high while the phone is close to shutdown. This is not a faulty battery — it is a calibration mismatch. Fully discharge the phone until it powers off on its own, then charge it to 100% without interruption. One complete cycle resets the IC's reference points to the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Huawei Ascend shut off suddenly at around 25% after fitting this battery?
That's a voltage cliff — the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff under modem or screen load before the percentage gauge catches up. The fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's discharge curve as its reference. Run the phone down until it shuts off on its own, then charge it to 100% in one uninterrupted session. After that single calibration cycle, the shutdowns stop.
Fast charging stopped working on my Ascend after I put this battery in — what happened?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, some Ascend units won't accept the high-current charge profile because the BMS hasn't yet passed the handshake the charge IC expects from a conditioned cell. Charge the phone once using a standard 5V/1A adapter at slow rate all the way to 100%. After that first full cycle, reconnect your fast charger — the BMS will accept the higher current without dropping back to trickle.
The phone feels warm near the battery while charging — is something wrong with the new cell?
Warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat until the cell is conditioned. If the phone is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the charger output does not exceed 5V/1A for the first cycle. After two or three full cycles, impedance drops and the warmth goes away.
