Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MetroPCS M635 / Pinnacle 2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HBU83S)
This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original HBU83S battery in the MetroPCS M635, M636, Pinnacle 2, and related handsets. If the original cell holds charge poorly, causes unexpected shutdowns, or no longer powers the phone through a normal day, this is the direct cell swap. Voltage and physical dimensions match the OEM spec exactly.
- M635 / M636 / Pinnacle 2 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and charge IC voltage profile. The HBU83S and alternate OEM number HB4A1H both map to this cell. One swap covers all listed variants without any adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, full discharge, and charge again on M635 hardware. The BMS accepted the charge cycle cleanly, the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff, and the phone woke normally at each stage without error flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, run the phone down fully before charging to 100% without interruption. The M635's fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle on the new cell resets that reference so percentage readings track accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the M635 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. At high-draw moments — mobile data handoff, screen at full brightness, a call connecting — the new cell briefly drops below the voltage threshold the phone's power IC expects. The phone interprets that sag as a dead battery and cuts out, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge. The fix is one full discharge-to-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC maps the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve. After calibration, the power IC gets accurate voltage data and stops tripping early.
Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery sat below 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS may have entered lockout mode to prevent damage — and the phone will show no response at all, not even a charging indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell and bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage climbs past roughly 2.9V, the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My M635 shows 25% battery and just shuts off without warning — is the new battery faulty?
Almost certainly not faulty — this is a fuel gauge mismatch. The phone's coulomb counter was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage under load and cuts power early. Run the phone down until it shuts off on its own, then charge it straight to 100% in one uninterrupted session. That single full cycle gives the fuel gauge IC the data it needs to track the new cell accurately.
The battery percentage on my M635 jumps around after I put in the replacement — it went from 60% to 44% in two minutes without me doing anything.
Erratic percentage jumps are normal for the first few cycles after a cell swap. The fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating its internal model against the new cell's impedance and discharge profile. Do not top up the charge mid-cycle during this period — let it drain fully and charge fully at least once, ideally twice. After two complete cycles the readings stabilise.
My MetroPCS M635 won't charge past about 80% with the new battery — it just stops there.
The charge IC may be applying a conservative current limit because it hasn't seen a full charge profile on this new cell yet. On the first full charge, leave the phone connected for at least 30 minutes after the screen shows 100% — the charge IC runs a top-up saturation phase that is easy to cut short by unplugging early. If it still stops at 80% after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a partially engaged contact can cause the charge IC to misread cell voltage and terminate early.
