Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Controller — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (B100)

This is a 2.4V, 2500mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack built to the B100 specification. It fits the Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and Xbox One Elite wireless controllers. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the controller shuts down mid-session.

  • Xbox One X, One S, and Elite controller fit: All three controllers share the same battery bay geometry, B100 connector pitch, and 2.4V supply rail. The charge circuit expects a Ni-MH cell at this voltage — swapping the pack does not require any firmware or pairing reset.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack in an Xbox One S controller and monitored charge acceptance from the dock. The BMS accepted a full charge cycle without throttling and the fuel gauge updated correctly across the session.
  • First-cycle calibration for the Xbox One fuel gauge: After installing, run one complete wireless play session to automatic controller cutoff before recharging. The Xbox fuel gauge IC sets its empty reference point against the first full discharge — skipping this step leaves the gauge reading high and cutting out unexpectedly.

Why the Xbox One controller drops wireless connection before the battery indicator hits empty

The Xbox One wireless radio and rumble motors pull current simultaneously during heavy gameplay. On a degraded or uncalibrated Ni-MH cell, this combined load drags cell voltage below the controller's radio threshold before the fuel gauge reaches one bar. The controller reads the voltage drop as a signal loss event, not a low-battery event, so the indicator shows partial charge at the moment of disconnect. Running the calibration cycle described above lets the controller distinguish a real voltage sag from a low-capacity condition.

Fuel gauge jumping between charge levels after fitting a new pack

The Xbox One fuel gauge IC builds its discharge curve from historical cycle data stored against the old cell. A new cell with a different internal resistance produces a different voltage-versus-capacity curve, so the gauge misreads remaining charge until it relearns. This shows up as the indicator jumping from three bars to one bar without warning. Complete three to five full discharge-and-recharge cycles and the gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell's curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Xbox One controller plays for a short time on a new battery — is the pack faulty?

New Ni-MH cells rarely ship at full capacity — they need three to five complete discharge and recharge cycles before reaching their rated 2500mAh. The controller's fuel gauge also relearns the cell's discharge curve over those first cycles, so early sessions will feel short. Run the controller to automatic cutoff each time and recharge fully. By cycle four or five, play time should reflect the full rated capacity.

The battery indicator on my Xbox One controller jumps from two bars straight to empty with no warning — what causes that?

The fuel gauge IC inside the controller stores the discharge curve of the previous cell. When the cell is replaced, the stored curve no longer matches the new pack's voltage behaviour, so the gauge miscounts remaining capacity. This is a calibration issue, not a fault with the battery. Run three full discharge cycles to automatic controller cutoff followed by a full recharge, and the gauge will reset its reference points to the new cell.

Xbox One controller charging dock isn't charging the new battery at the normal rate — what's happening?

The Xbox One charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a cell with no cycle history — this is intentional protection against an unverified cell. It clears automatically after one complete charge cycle from near-empty to full. Discharge the controller fully in a play session, then leave it on the dock for a full charge. The charge IC will recognise the cell on the second cycle and restore the standard charge rate.
