Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Midland BTX2 Pro / BTX1 Pro Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (YT502262)
This 3.7V 750mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the YT502262 battery in the Midland BTX2 Pro, BTX2 Pro S, BTX1 Pro, and BTX1 Pro S wireless motorcycle headsets. The original cell degrades with repeated charge cycles, cutting call time short and causing mid-ride dropouts. Swapping this cell restores the headset to factory power capacity.
- BTX Pro series fit: The BTX2 Pro and BTX1 Pro share the same 3.7V power rail, YT502262 footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell fits across both lines. The connector orientation and cell dimensions (60.70 × 22.00 × 5.00mm) are identical across the series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the BTX2 Pro platform. The BMS accepted the new pack without error flags, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- First-cycle headset registration: Seat the headset in its charging cradle and complete one full charge before using it. The BTX Pro base station logs the new cell's capacity on that first cycle — skip it and the talk-time indicator will read inaccurately for the first several uses.
Why the BTX2 Pro cuts out mid-call on a new battery
The BTX2 Pro draws simultaneously from the audio amplifier and the Bluetooth radio during a call. That combined load creates a brief voltage sag that the BMS can misread as a low-cell condition, tripping the protection circuit. A fresh cell at storage voltage (around 3.6–3.7V) is more prone to this than one that has completed two or three full charge cycles. Running three full charge-discharge cycles brings the cell to stable operating voltage and reduces sag trips.
Base station showing a charging error after fitting a new cell
The BTX Pro cradle handshakes with the battery BMS before it starts the charge current. If the new cell arrives at deep storage voltage, the base may not complete that handshake and will flag an error LED instead of charging. Connect the headset to the cradle, leave it for 10–15 minutes without disturbing it, and let the BMS pre-charge circuit bring the cell up to 3.0V. Once that threshold is reached, the base station recognises the pack and switches to normal CC/CV charging.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BTX2 Pro cuts out mid-call but the base showed a full charge — what is happening?
The Bluetooth radio and audio amplifier pull current at the same time during a call, creating a combined load that causes a short voltage sag. If the cell has not completed a few charge-discharge cycles yet, the BMS trips the protection circuit at that sag point before the cell is actually empty. Run three full charge-discharge cycles on the new cell and the sag response stabilises. If dropouts persist after that, check that the cell is seating flush in the connector — a loose contact amplifies voltage sag under load.
Talk time is noticeably shorter than expected in the first few days — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. Li-Polymer cells ship at partial storage charge and need three to five full cycles before they reach rated capacity. Each cycle, the cell accepts slightly more charge and the internal resistance drops a little. By cycle four or five, talk time should be close to what the original battery delivered when new. Do not judge the cell on the first two uses — complete those cycles first.
The headset gets warm during long calls — is that normal for this cell size?
Some warmth is expected. The BTX2 Pro housing is compact, so heat from the Bluetooth radio and the 750mAh Li-Polymer cell under sustained combined draw has limited space to dissipate. The cell's protection circuit will cut power before it reaches a damaging temperature. If the headset becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, stop the call and let it cool for five minutes — that points to a ventilation blockage around the cell seating area, not a cell fault.
