Fits Mitel 6865i, 6863i, 6865, 6867i wireless headsets; replaces OEM 50006764 and 50005711.
3.7V 240mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers sustained power for cordless DECT operation on desk phones.
Connector seats into the battery slot beneath the ear cup with a single locking tab.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake with base station on first insert; no fault cycles.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a full cycle before taking calls — DECT platforms require the base to log the new cell before talk-time estimates stabilize.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mitel 6865i / 6863i Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (50006764)

This 3.7V 240mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the internal battery in Mitel DECT wireless headsets. It fits the 6865i, 6863i, 6865, 6867i, and nine additional models in this range. Swap it when your headset no longer holds charge or drops off the base station mid-cycle.

  • 6860 series headset compatibility: These models share a common 3.7V single-cell architecture and the same connector footprint. The BMS on each variant communicates charge state to the base station over the same handshake protocol, so one cell covers the full range without firmware conflicts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a 6865i base station. The BMS completed its handshake correctly, and the base station's charge indicator progressed normally from empty to full without throwing a fault.
  • First-cycle base station registration: On first use, seat the headset in the base and let it charge through one complete uninterrupted cycle before making a call. The base station logs the new cell during this cycle — skipping it causes the talk-time estimate to read inaccurately for the first several uses.

Base station not recognising a new pack after swap

When a fresh cell is installed, the BMS starts at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — which sits outside the range the base station expects for a registered headset. The base may flash an error or refuse to show a charging state. This is not a fault with the cell. Place the headset on the cradle and leave it undisturbed for a full charge cycle; the BMS handshake completes once voltage climbs past the base station's recognition threshold near 3.7V.

Headset cutting out mid-call on a fresh battery

A 240mAh cell in a compact headset housing carries a combined load — audio amplifier plus DECT radio transmitter — both drawing current simultaneously during a call. If the cell hasn't completed its first full conditioning cycle, its internal resistance is temporarily elevated, causing a voltage sag under that combined draw. The BMS interprets the sag as a low-cell condition and cuts power to protect the cell. Complete three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the sag behaviour normalises; mid-call dropouts typically stop after cycle three.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mitel 6865i base station shows a charging error right after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?

The new cell arrives at storage voltage, usually around 3.60–3.62V, and the base station's BMS handshake won't complete until the cell climbs into its normal operating range. This reads as a fault on the cradle display, but nothing is defective. Set the headset on the base, leave it undisturbed through one full uninterrupted charge cycle, and the error will clear once voltage crosses the 3.7V recognition threshold.

The base shows a full charge but the headset cuts off after a very short time — is the cell faulty?

This happens when a freshly installed cell hasn't completed its first conditioning cycle. The cell's internal resistance is elevated at storage, so under the combined draw of the audio amp and DECT radio, voltage sags sharply and the BMS trips the cutoff early — even though the base reported full. Run three to five complete charge-discharge cycles with the headset in normal use and the cutoff behaviour will improve noticeably by cycle three.

The headset gets noticeably warm during long calls — is that a problem with the 240mAh cell?

Warmth during extended calls is expected in a housing this small. The cell is supplying the DECT transmitter and audio circuit simultaneously in a 36.70 x 20.68 x 4.30mm enclosure with minimal heat dissipation area. As long as the headset doesn't become hot to the touch or shut off, operating temperature is within normal range. If it does shut off from heat, move to a cooler environment and check that the ventilation slots on the headset body aren't blocked.
