Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobistel Cynus F6 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY26188)
This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell sized to fit the Mobistel Cynus F6 smartphone. It replaces the original BTY26188 battery when the existing cell no longer holds a usable charge. The battery matches the factory dimensions of 72.05 × 57.01 × 4.35mm and connects through the same board connector.
- Cynus F6 fitment: The BTY26188 is specific to this handset — the cell footprint, connector tab position, and BMS communication protocol are matched to the Cynus F6 power management IC. No adapter or modification is needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Cynus F6 unit, confirming BMS handshake, thermal sensor response, and that the charge IC accepted the cell without fault codes.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting, run one full discharge to the auto-shutdown point, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. This gives the fuel gauge IC accurate endpoints to map the new cell's discharge curve, which cuts erratic percentage readings from the first day.
Why the Cynus F6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Cynus F6 uses a coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC that builds its model against the previous cell's charge curve. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches the actual discharge behaviour, so the percentage display drifts — sometimes reading 40% and shutting down seconds later. The fix is one complete uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge to 100%. After that cycle, the IC has real endpoints from the new cell and percentage readings stabilise. Do not interrupt this first cycle with a mid-charge top-up.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. Under modem load or screen-on draw, the cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.2V — before the fuel gauge reports 0%. The phone sees an undervoltage condition and cuts power to protect the cell. If shutdowns happen consistently around the same percentage, charge the phone to 100%, then run a full single discharge cycle to let the fuel gauge remap the voltage-to-percentage curve. If shutdowns persist below 3.3V under load after two full cycles, the cell replacement has been completed correctly and the issue is in the modem or display draw — check background app activity first.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone powers on but won't charge past around 80% after I put the new battery in — is something wrong with the cell?
This is almost always the fuel gauge IC reading a stale charge curve from the old cell, not a fault with the new one. The IC caps charging early because it thinks 80% of the old cell's capacity is already full. Run one complete discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without unplugging early. After that single calibration cycle, the charge endpoint resets against the new cell's actual capacity.
My Cynus F6 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — what's happening?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BTY26188 dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent cell damage. The phone will not power on from this state. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, before normal charging resumes.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal for a new cell?
A new Li-ion cell starts with higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage across the cell resistance to maintain current flow, generating extra heat. This is most pronounced in the first two to three charge cycles and fades as the cell's impedance settles. If the back of the phone stays warm throughout the full charge and the surface temperature feels hot rather than just warm, check that the battery connector is fully seated flat — a partially connected tab increases contact resistance and adds heat at the joint.
