Fits Motorola CLP1010, CLP1040, CLP1060, CLP446 and replaces HKNN4013A, HKLN4440B, HKNN4013B, PMNN4425B, HKNN4014A, PMNN4468, PMNN4468A, PMLN6745A, BT110, PMNN4578A, FNB-V142LI.
3.7V, 1800mAh (6.66Wh) lithium-ion cell restores full RF output and sustained transmission on CLP series radios during eight-hour shifts.
Slide connector accepts the standard Motorola CLP slotted dock; battery seats flush with locking tab engaging from the top.
We bench-tested against stock CLP1010 charger dock; BMS accepted handshake on first insertion, no fault LED, steady charge to full capacity.
If the charger dock shows fault LED on first insertion, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly — the Motorola platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola CLP1010 / CLP446 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HKNN4013A)

This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the HKNN4013A and compatible OEM packs across the Motorola CLP1010, CLP1040, CLP1060, and CLP446 series two-way radios. It fits the compact body of these commercial-grade radios used in retail, hospitality, and warehouse environments. Voltage and cell chemistry match OEM spec — the BMS handshake runs the same control loop as the factory pack.

  • CLP series shared battery platform: The CLP1010, CLP1040, CLP1060, and CLP446 all run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical connector footprint and BMS protocol. One battery pack covers the full lineup — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a CLP series dock. The BMS held steady through PTT transmit spikes and accepted the dock's charge handshake without fault on the first insertion.
  • Dock contact seating on first use: If the charging dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The CLP dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before charging begins.

Why the CLP1010 drops to reduced TX power mid-shift on a new battery

The CLP1010's transmitter draws a short current spike every time PTT is pressed. If the battery's internal impedance is elevated — common in a new pack still at storage voltage — the cell voltage sags briefly under that load. The radio's power control circuit reads the sag as a low-battery condition and steps the transmitter down to protect the radio. Running two or three full charge-discharge cycles brings cell impedance down and eliminates the sag under transmit load.

Bar indicator shows one fewer bar than expected after fitting a new pack

New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — not at a full 4.2V charge. The CLP series uses a simple voltage-threshold bar indicator, so a pack at storage voltage will display one bar below what a fully charged cell would show. This is not a fault with the battery. Seat the pack in the dock and complete a full charge cycle first. Once the cell reaches 4.2V, the indicator will read correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CLP1010 cuts out completely mid-transmission even though the battery shows charge — what's happening?

A full PTT transmit current spike can trip the BMS overcurrent threshold if the cell hasn't been through a proper break-in cycle. The BMS reads the spike as a fault and cuts power to protect the cell — the radio goes dead for a second or two, then recovers. Run two full charge-discharge cycles on the new pack before field use. After conditioning, the cell handles the transmit spike without tripping the cutoff.

The charging dock fault LED never clears — it just keeps blinking no matter how many times I reseat the battery.

A blinking fault LED that won't clear usually means the pack voltage is below the dock's acceptance threshold — this happens when a new cell has been sitting in storage and has self-discharged below roughly 3.0V. The dock won't initiate a standard charge cycle on a pack that low. Connect the radio itself to USB charging if your CLP model supports it, or try a different dock that has a recovery or trickle-charge mode. Once the cell recovers above 3.0V, the standard dock will accept it and charge normally.

The dock never switches to green — it stays on red for hours even with a fresh battery fitted correctly.

A dock that holds red indefinitely usually indicates a cell impedance mismatch — the pack is charging, but the BMS and dock can't agree on termination. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip clean with a dry cloth, and check that no contact pins are bent or corroded in the dock cradle. Reseat the pack with firm pressure and restart the charge. If the contacts are clean and seated correctly, the dock should switch to green within the normal charge window.
