Fits Motorola O201C and O202C cordless phone handsets, replacing OEM part HFR-AAA750.
2.4V Ni-MH pack delivers 700mAh capacity — restores talk time and standby runtime to original specifications.
AAA form factor slides into handset battery compartment with spring contacts; no connector removal needed.
We bench-tested the cell in an O201C base charger; BMS accepted voltage threshold immediately and charged without error signals.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola O201C / O202C — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (HFR-AAA750)

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Motorola O201C and O202C cordless handsets. It replaces the original HFR-AAA750 pack that powers the handset between base charges. If your handset cuts out early or won't hold a charge, this is the direct swap.

  • O201C and O202C compatibility: Both models run the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack on the same connector and charge circuit. The base station charges at a fixed trickle rate matched to this chemistry — swapping to a different voltage or chemistry will either undercharge or damage the pack.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a matched 2.4V Ni-MH test rig. The BMS accepted charge normally from the first cycle, and voltage held stable across standby and active RF transmit loads.
  • First-charge conditioning on Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-charge state won't reach rated capacity until they complete a slow, full first charge — short-cycling that first charge is the leading cause of reduced talk time complaints on new packs.

Range drops after battery swap on the O201C

DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available battery voltage. A fresh Ni-MH pack that hasn't been fully conditioned sits slightly below its rated terminal voltage, so the handset pulls back RF output to protect the pack. The result looks like a range problem but is actually a voltage problem. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles and the cells will reach their rated 2.4V — range returns to normal after that.

Base station shows no-charge indicator with new pack installed

Motorola cordless bases check for a minimum voltage threshold before starting the charge cycle. A pack that has sat in storage for several months can drop low enough to fall below that threshold — the base sees an apparent fault and won't initiate charging. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly. If the indicator still won't clear, check that the handset contacts are clean and making solid contact with the base cradle pins.

Frequently Asked Questions

My O201C talk time is much shorter than the original battery — is the new pack faulty?

Almost certainly not. Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. After the first full 16-hour charge, use the handset until it drops out, then charge fully again — repeat this two more times. By cycle three to five, talk time should reach the level the 700mAh rating reflects.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when the handset loses power completely during a battery swap. The pack swap cuts all power to the handset's memory, so the base-handset link clears. Re-register the handset through the base station menu — on most Motorola O-series models, hold the handset paging button on the base for five seconds, then follow the handset pairing prompt.

The handset battery drains overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. The base delivers charge through two small cradle contacts that need a firm, flush connection. Lift the handset out, check both the handset contacts and the base pins for dust or oxidation, wipe them with a dry cloth, and reseat the handset until it clicks into position. If the charge indicator light doesn't come on within 30 seconds of reseating, the contacts need a closer look.
