Fits Motorola RAZR 50d 5G 2024 and XT2453-1/XT2453-2 variants, replaces OEM battery QR31.
3.88V, 2850mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full power to processor, modem, and display stack.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with locking tab engagement at base.
We bench-tested this cell on a RAZR 50d 5G — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion, fuel gauge IC began recalibration cycle without fault codes.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola RAZR 50d 5G 2024 — 3.88V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (QR31)

This is a 3.88V, 2850mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Motorola RAZR 50d 5G 2024, also sold as the Razr 2024 5G (XT2453-1, XT2453-2). It replaces the original QR31 cell and restores power to the processor, display, and wireless radios. Fit the replacement when the original cell no longer holds charge or shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • XT2453-1 and XT2453-2 compatibility: Both hardware revisions share the same QR31 cell format, voltage rail, and BMS handshake. The connector and cell geometry are identical across all listed XT2453 variants, so one replacement covers the full production run.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Motorola RAZR 50d 5G unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC transitioned through trickle, constant-current, and constant-voltage phases normally.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use after fitting, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement QR31 cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. The RAZR 50d's modem and display pull sharp current spikes, and if the gauge misreads state-of-charge, the device hits the low-voltage cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. The fix is one full discharge — run the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and the percentage readings stabilise.

USB-PD fast charge not accepted on the first cycle after fitting

Some QR31 replacements take one standard charge cycle before the charge IC negotiates fast-charge handshake protocols. On the first cycle, the device may draw at standard 5V rather than the higher voltage tiers. This is normal BMS behaviour on a cold cell with no prior charge history. Charge once at standard rate, disconnect fully, then reconnect — fast charge should negotiate correctly from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Motorola RAZR 50d keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still reading the discharge curve of the original QR31, not the replacement. When the modem or screen pulls a current spike, the phone hits its low-voltage cutoff before the percentage indicator catches up. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption — the coulomb counter will recalibrate against the new cell and the early shutdowns will stop.

The battery percentage on my RAZR 50d 5G is jumping around erratically after the replacement — sometimes it gains a few percent while I'm using it.

That's the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. The coulomb counter lost its reference point when the original cell was removed, and it's now estimating state-of-charge against incomplete data. One complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard (non-fast) charging speed gives the IC enough data to build an accurate model of the new cell's curve. After that cycle, erratic jumps should stop and the percentage will track steadily.

My RAZR 50d won't turn on at all after the new QR31 battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation — is it dead?

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the QR31 dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS entered lockout to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it connected for at least 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC will run a trickle-charge recovery phase to bring the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold. Once voltage recovers, the phone will power on and normal charging will resume.
