Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Moulinex MX232001/2D1 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (RS-AC3428)
This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Moulinex cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits models MX232001/2D1, MX232301/2D0, and MX232301/2D1. OEM part number RS-AC3428.
- MX232001 and MX232301 compatibility: These models share the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH architecture, connector pinout, and motor driver circuit. One battery cell covers both series without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MX232001 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the motor reached full operating speed within the normal startup window.
- Dock charging habit on this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. The MX232 series uses a simple trickle charger with no automatic cutoff. Continuous dock contact keeps feeding current into a full cell, accelerating capacity loss. Charge to full, then remove it.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The MX232 motor draws higher current when the filter is partially blocked. Under that load, cell voltage sags below the motor driver's operating threshold before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery state. The vacuum feels like it's dying early, but the battery may still hold most of its charge. Clean the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the problem. If voltage sag continues on a clean filter, the cell has lost capacity and the resting voltage will measure below 3.9V on a fully charged pack.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when the vacuum tries to pull through a blockage or a clogged filter — sustained restricted airflow forces the motor to draw above its rated current, and the protection circuit opens. After 10–30 seconds the BMS resets and the vacuum starts again. Check the filter and the intake path for partial blockages before assuming the replacement cell is faulty. If trips stop after clearing the filter, the cell is working correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Moulinex MX232001 loses suction halfway through a clean even though the battery indicator still shows charged — why?
The motor on the MX232 series draws extra current when the filter is partially restricted, which drags cell voltage below the motor driver threshold before the indicator circuit notices. The battery may still hold most of its charge — the voltage sag is load-driven, not capacity-driven. Pull the filter and clean it thoroughly. If suction returns to normal, the filter was the cause; if voltage sag continues on a clean filter, measure the charged pack — a healthy RS-AC3428 cell should read at least 4.2V at rest immediately after a full charge.
The vacuum cuts out for a few seconds then starts working again — is the replacement battery faulty?
This is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a defective cell. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, clogged intake, or pressing too hard on carpet — the motor draws above its rated current and the protection circuit opens temporarily. We reproduced this on the bench by restricting the intake; the cell itself held voltage correctly throughout. Clear any blockage in the filter and intake path, then test again on an open hard floor surface. If the cutouts stop, the cell is functioning as it should.
The new RS-AC3428 battery is not charging in my MX232301 — the charger light stays off or doesn't change.
The MX232 series charger detects the cell through a voltage window at the start of the charge cycle. If the replacement cell arrived deeply discharged — below roughly 3.0V — the charger may not recognise it as a valid pack and will not begin charging. Connect the vacuum to the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without interruption; some chargers apply a low-current pre-charge pulse before switching to the main charge cycle. If the indicator still does not respond after that window, check that the dock contacts are clean and making firm contact with the battery terminals before concluding there is a fault.
