Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MTC 3937 Megatech — 8.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is an 8.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the MTC 3937 Megatech cordless vacuum cleaner. It replaces the original cell pack when capacity fade leaves the vacuum unable to finish a cleaning pass. Dimensions are 88.10 × 89.90 × 22.70mm — confirm these against your existing pack before ordering.
- 3937 Megatech fit: The 3937 Megatech uses an 8.4V Ni-MH pack at this specific form factor. Voltage and physical size both need to match — a different voltage rail will either under-drive the motor or prevent the charger from completing a full cycle.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge runs and monitored the BMS response under sustained motor load. Current draw stayed within rated limits and the protection circuit did not trip under normal operating conditions.
- Dock charging behaviour on Ni-MH vacuums: Do not leave the 3937 Megatech sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge on Ni-MH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles. Charge to full, then disconnect from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the pack can sustain at its present state of charge, causing voltage to sag before the indicator logic triggers. A clogged filter makes this worse — restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling higher current and accelerating the voltage drop. Clean the filter first. If suction still fades early after a full charge on a new pack, the charger may not be completing the charge cycle, leaving the cells at 7.8–8.0V instead of the full 8.4V.
Motor cuts out mid-use and then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — usually a blocked filter or a tangled brush roll — the motor draws a sustained current spike that pushes past the protection threshold. The BMS shuts the output, the motor stops, and the circuit resets after the cells cool slightly. Clear the filter and check the brush roll before assuming the battery is faulty. If the cutout still happens on a clean vacuum, check that the charger brought the pack to a full 8.4V before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the MTC 3937 Megatech lose suction partway through vacuuming even with a new battery fully charged?
A partially blocked filter is the most common cause — restricted airflow forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drags voltage down faster than the battery indicator tracks. Clean or replace the filter and check the brush roll for tangled debris before the next run. If suction still fades early, confirm the charger brought the pack to a full 8.4V — an incomplete charge cycle leaves the cells short of rated capacity even though the indicator may show full.
The vacuum motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds and then comes back on its own — is the battery faulty?
That pattern points to the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a defective cell. Sustained restricted airflow — from a clogged filter or jammed brush roll — pushes current draw past the protection threshold, and the BMS shuts output until the cells recover. Clear the filter and brush roll first. If the cutout continues on a clean machine with a fully charged pack at 8.4V, the charger or dock connection may be the issue.
The replacement battery capacity seems to fade noticeably after only a few months — what causes that?
Leaving the vacuum on the charging dock continuously is the main cause of early capacity fade in Ni-MH packs. Constant trickle charge degrades Ni-MH cells faster than regular charge-and-remove use. Charge the pack to full and take it off the dock — do not use the dock as a storage cradle. If fade has already set in, run two or three full discharge-and-recharge cycles to partially recondition the cells before drawing conclusions about the pack's true capacity.
