MTC 3937 Megatech — 8.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is an 8.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the MTC 3937 Megatech cordless vacuum cleaner. It replaces the original cell pack when capacity fade leaves the vacuum unable to finish a cleaning pass. Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the pack can sustain at its present state of charge, causing voltage to sag before the indicator logic triggers. A clogged filter makes this worse — restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling higher current and accelerating the voltage drop. Clean the filter first. If suction still fades early after a full charge on a new pack, the charger may not be completing the charge cycle, leaving the cells at 7.8–8.0V instead of the full 8.4V.

Motor cuts out mid-use and then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — usually a blocked filter or a tangled brush roll — the motor draws a sustained current spike that pushes past the protection threshold. The BMS shuts the output, the motor stops, and the circuit resets after the cells cool slightly. Clear the filter and check the brush roll before assuming the battery is faulty. If the cutout still happens on a clean vacuum, check that the charger brought the pack to a full 8.4V before use.
