Fits MyPhone 8830 and 8830 TV smartphones replacing original MP-0-1 battery pack.
3.7V at 1500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers standard runtime between daily charge cycles.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab — straight insertion required.
We ran five full discharge cycles on the bench; BMS accepted charge current cleanly from cycle one.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MyPhone 8830 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (MP-0-1)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original battery in the MyPhone 8830 and 8830 TV smartphones. It matches the OEM part number MP-0-1 and fits the physical bay without modification. Capacity figures come from product data — 5.55Wh total energy.

  • 8830 and 8830 TV compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical battery bay footprint at 66.31 × 41.99 × 6.65mm. The connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol are shared across the TV and non-TV variants, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 8830 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without a fault flag, and the charge IC completed a full CC/CV cycle to 4.2V without interruption.
  • First-cycle fast charge handling: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Why the 8830 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The 8830 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model from repeated discharge cycles against the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old discharge curve. It will show inaccurate percentages — sometimes 20% higher or lower than actual — until it recalibrates. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge maps its curve to the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem or display's minimum operating threshold before the fuel gauge reaches zero. Under combined screen-on and modem load, the cell cannot sustain voltage above the BMS cutoff even though the reported percentage looks safe. It is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. Run one full discharge-to-cutoff cycle without interruption — the fuel gauge will anchor its low-voltage endpoint correctly and the premature shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MyPhone 8830 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks the cell out when voltage drops below approximately 2.5V during storage, which is a protection state, not permanent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, after which the phone will boot normally.

The 8830 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacing the cell — is that a problem?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more heat during the initial CC phase. This is normal for the first two or three cycles and fades as the cell's impedance drops. If the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — stop charging and let it cool before continuing. After the third full cycle, charging temperature should return to what you saw with the original battery.

Battery percentage on the 8830 jumps erratically — it reads 45%, then suddenly 70%, then drops to 30% without much use.

The fuel gauge IC is using a coulomb counter calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, and the new cell's curve doesn't match it. Erratic jumps are the IC trying to reconcile measured voltage against a stale reference. The fix is one complete cycle: drain the phone to automatic shutdown under normal use, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger. After that cycle the coulomb counter anchors to the new cell's actual endpoints and the percentage readings settle.
