Fits Navigon 2200, 2210, 2200T GPS navigators and replaces OEM part 384.00021.005.
3.7V, 800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the same capacity as the original battery for sustained navigation sessions.
Connector is a proprietary two-pin socket with single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent misalignment during insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the 2200 platform; the BMS accepted full charge cycles without early cutoff or voltage sag during active GPS use.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes five to ten minutes for initial lock.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navigon 2200 / 2210 / 2200T — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (384.00021.005)

This 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part 384.00021.005 in the Navigon 2200, 2210, and 2200T portable GPS navigators. It fits the same connector and physical footprint as the original. Capacity is 800mAh (2.96Wh), matching the stock specification.

  • 2200, 2210, and 2200T compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V charging profile. One cell covers the entire platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 2200 platform. The device's protection circuit accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge controller reached cutoff correctly at full capacity.
  • First satellite fix after fitting: After any full power interruption, the Navigon 2200 performs a cold start. Power the unit on outdoors and give it 5–10 minutes to reacquire its satellite almanac. Subsequent warm starts resolve in under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced when battery charge drops below 20%

The Navigon 2200 scales back receiver sensitivity at low battery to protect against an uncontrolled shutdown. This reduces the number of satellites the unit can track simultaneously. Position accuracy degrades noticeably — the on-screen arrow may lag actual position by 10–15 metres. Keeping the battery above 20% charge during active navigation prevents the receiver from entering this reduced-power mode.

Device shuts off without a low-battery warning

The battery indicator in the Navigon 2200 reads voltage, not actual state of charge. As a Li-ion cell ages, its voltage curve flattens — the indicator stays at one or two bars until voltage drops sharply, then the unit cuts off instantly. A new cell restores a steeper voltage curve, which gives the indicator enough resolution to trigger the warning at the correct threshold. After fitting this replacement, run one full charge cycle so the device can re-calibrate its voltage-to-charge mapping against a fresh cell's curve — charge to 4.2V and allow the device to discharge normally before recharging.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navigon 2200 saved routes and favourites were wiped when I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The 2200 stores some route and POI data in RAM that loses power the moment the battery is removed. Favourites saved to internal flash memory survive the swap, but any active route or recently calculated path will be gone. Before removing the battery, export or note any routes you need to keep. After fitting the replacement, re-enter those routes and save them to the device's internal storage rather than leaving them as temporary entries.

After fitting the new battery, it's taking 8 minutes to get a GPS fix — did I do something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the satellite almanac the device had cached in memory. Without that data, the 2200 runs a cold start and has to download fresh almanac data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the almanac is rebuilt and cached, subsequent fixes will lock in under a minute. Leave the device stationary outside during this first fix — moving the unit during cold-start acquisition extends the process.

My Navigon 2200 drains the battery much faster when I'm actively navigating than when it's just sitting on — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously, recalculates position several times per second, and keeps the screen at full brightness. Each of those three loads draws power independently. In standby, the receiver duty-cycles or sleeps entirely. The fastest way to extend charge during a trip is to reduce screen brightness — on the 2200, drop it to 50% in display settings, which cuts screen draw significantly without making the map hard to read in a moving vehicle.
