Fits Navigon 81xx, 8110, and 8310 GPS navigators; replaces OEM part 761NH50371W.
3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers full capacity across satellite lock and active routing without throttle.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed.
We cycled this pack on a Navigon 8110 — BMS accepted charge at 0.5C input with no fault codes or early cutoff events.
After fitting, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first lock.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navigon 81xx Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (761NH50371W)

This 3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Navigon 8110 and 8310 GPS navigators. It matches the OEM part number 761NH50371W and fits the slim 64.10 × 42.60 × 4.80mm cavity of the 81xx chassis. Capacity is 4.81Wh — identical to factory spec.

  • 8110 and 8310 compatibility: Both models run the same voltage rail and share the 761NH50371W connector footprint. The BMS on each unit handshakes at 3.7V nominal — no firmware difference between them affects how the replacement cell is recognised at power-on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 81xx platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held the low-voltage cutoff at the correct threshold, and showed no thermal anomalies during fast-charge phases.
  • First-fix cold start after swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. GPS performs a full cold start after any complete power interruption — first fix typically takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the 81xx

The Navigon 81xx lowers receiver sensitivity when battery voltage drops near the cutoff threshold. This saves power but weakens signal acquisition, especially in urban canyons or under tree cover. The symptom is position drift or a "searching for GPS" banner that appears well before the battery indicator reads empty. Keeping the cell above 3.5V under load prevents the unit from triggering this power-save mode.

Navigon 81xx shuts off without warning before the battery bar empties

After a battery swap, the fuel-gauge calibration stored on the device no longer matches the new cell's actual discharge curve. The unit reads remaining charge against the old degraded baseline, so the low-battery warning fires late — or not at all — before hard cutoff. The fix is a full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge to 4.2V with the unit off. One full cycle re-anchors the gauge to the replacement cell's real capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navigon 8110 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The 81xx stores saved routes and some settings in RAM that relies on continuous power from the battery. When the cell is fully removed, that memory loses its backup voltage and clears. Export routes to the SD card or via the desktop software before pulling the battery — anything not saved externally will be gone after a full power break.

Satellite lock is taking over 5 minutes on my Navigon 8310 after fitting the new battery — what's happening?

A complete power interruption forces a cold start, which means the GPS receiver has lost its cached almanac and ephemeris data. It has to download fresh satellite position tables from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes with a clear sky view. Drive the unit outdoors with an unobstructed view overhead and leave it stationary until the fix locks — subsequent starts will drop back to under a minute once the almanac is rebuilt.

Active turn-by-turn navigation drains the Navigon 81xx battery much faster than just having the device on — why?

During active navigation the GPS receiver polls continuously and the display runs at full brightness, which together draw significantly more current than standby. The 81xx does not throttle the receiver or dim the screen automatically during routing. Connecting the device to a vehicle USB or 12V adapter during navigation keeps the cell from depleting mid-journey — plug in before starting a route rather than after the battery warning appears.
