Fits NavGear GT-35 3D and replaces OEM part number WTL303580 exactly.
3.7V, 700mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full runtime on this handheld GPS unit.
Connector slides into the battery slot with no tab obstruction or modification needed.
We bench-tested the BMS on a GT-35 3D unit — voltage held steady through discharge cycles with no early cutoff.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before use — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NavGear GT-35 3D Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (WTL303580)

This 3.7V, 700mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the NavGear GT-35 3D, GT-35-128MB, GT35, and Pearl portable GPS navigators. It fits the slim internal bay and uses the same connector and voltage rail as the factory unit. Capacity figures are taken directly from product data at 700mAh (2.59Wh).

  • GT-35 series compatibility: The GT-35 3D, GT-35-128MB, GT35, and Pearl variants share the same PCB voltage rail at 3.7V nominal and the same physical battery bay at 48.80 × 29.80 × 5.20mm. One cell covers all of them.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a GT-35 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • First-use GPS cold start tip: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a full satellite fix before driving. GPS navigators perform a cold start after any complete power interruption — first fix takes 5–10 minutes compared to under a minute on subsequent warm starts.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the GT-35

When cell voltage drops toward the lower end of the 3.7V nominal range, the GT-35's power management reduces current to the GPS receiver module. Lower receiver current means reduced signal sensitivity, which causes position jumps or a wider accuracy radius on-screen. This is not a software fault — it is the unit protecting itself from a hard shutdown mid-navigation. Keeping the cell charged above 3.6V measured at the terminals maintains full receiver sensitivity.

GT-35 shutting off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty

The on-screen battery gauge on the GT-35 is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance will hit the hardware low-voltage cutoff threshold before the visual indicator counts down to zero. The unit cuts power abruptly rather than showing a low-battery warning. Run two full charge-discharge cycles and the gauge recalibrates — after that the warning and the actual cutoff align.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GT-35 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that gone for good?

Saved routes and POIs on the GT-35 are held in flash memory, not battery-backed RAM, so they survive a full power removal. If routes are missing after the swap, the unit likely performed a firmware reset during the power interruption. Check the memory card is seated correctly, then navigate to the saved routes folder — most GT-35 units store user data on the microSD card rather than internal memory, so the data is almost certainly still there.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes every time I start the GT-35 after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Any complete power interruption wipes the GPS receiver's stored almanac and ephemeris data, forcing a cold start. Cold starts on the GT-35 typically take 5–10 minutes for first fix outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the receiver has rebuilt its satellite data file, subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute. Leave the unit stationary outdoors with the screen on for the first fix rather than starting a journey immediately.

Active navigation drains the new battery noticeably faster than just sitting at the menu — why?

During active navigation, the GT-35 runs both the GPS receiver and the display at full brightness simultaneously. That combination draws significantly more current than the unit sitting at a static menu screen where the receiver duty-cycles. Reduce display brightness by one or two steps in settings — the GPS receiver draw stays constant, but display backlight is the largest controllable load on a 700mAh cell. That single change extends active navigation time without affecting map readability in most daylight conditions.
