Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NetZero 4G Hotspot (WIFMM-122) — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 2100mAh Li-ion battery fits the NetZero 4G Hotspot, 4G Personal Hotspot, and WIFMM-122. It replaces a worn or dead original cell so the hotspot can broadcast again. Capacity comes straight from the product specification — 2100mAh, 7.77Wh.
- WIFMM-122 platform compatibility: The 4G Hotspot and 4G Personal Hotspot share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and the same physical connector footprint, which is why one battery covers all three listed model numbers. No BMS renegotiation is required — the protection circuit communicates charge state the same way the original cell did.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined WiFi broadcast and LTE modem load with five client devices connected. The BMS held the voltage rail steady through connection establishment and passed charge termination cleanly at 4.2V without tripping overcurrent protection.
- Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on a hard, flat surface — not a couch cushion or pocket — during long sessions. When client devices are far from the unit, the cellular radio runs at maximum transmit power, generating heat that accumulates inside the chassis and stresses the cell faster than normal use.
Why the WIFMM-122 cuts connected devices mid-session
When several devices connect simultaneously, the modem and WiFi radio draw peak current at the same moment. A degraded or partially charged cell cannot hold the voltage rail steady under that combined spike, and the BMS briefly interrupts output to protect the cell. That interruption drops WiFi associations for all connected clients. A fully charged new cell raises the stable output ceiling and eliminates most mid-session dropouts caused by voltage sag.
Hotspot shows a charge indicator but won't boot after sitting unused
Lithium-ion cells that have been stored discharged can fall below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V — even if the indicator LED still flickers. The device's firmware requires a minimum rail voltage to initialise the modem before it will complete startup. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for at least 20 minutes before pressing power. If the cell recovers above 3.2V, the unit will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My hotspot keeps dropping all connected devices for a few seconds then reconnecting — is this the battery?
Yes, this is a voltage sag failure. When multiple devices connect at once, the combined modem and WiFi radio draw spikes current faster than a degraded cell can supply it, causing the BMS to cut output momentarily and drop all WiFi associations. A new 2100mAh cell raises the stable current ceiling and stops the dropout cycle. Charge the replacement fully to 4.2V before the first session.
The hotspot battery drains much faster when I'm in an area with weak signal — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong — this is normal LTE behaviour, but it accelerates cell wear over time. In poor signal areas, the cellular radio ramps to maximum transmit power continuously, drawing significantly more current than in strong-signal environments. That sustained high draw heats the cell and deepens each discharge cycle. Move the hotspot closer to a window or external wall to reduce transmit power demand on the battery.
The hotspot won't turn on at all after I left it in a drawer for a few months — is the new battery dead on arrival?
Likely not dead — the cell has probably discharged below the minimum boot threshold, around 3.0V. At that voltage level, the device firmware cannot initialise the modem and will refuse to complete startup even if the charge LED briefly lights. Connect the hotspot to a charger for 20 to 30 minutes before pressing power. If the cell recovers above 3.2V, the unit will boot normally.
