Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Newland NLS-NVH300 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (18650CR)
This 3.7V, 3350mAh Li-ion cell replaces the 18650CR battery in the Newland NLS-NVH300 handheld barcode scanner. The NVH300 is a mobile data terminal used in retail, logistics, and warehouse environments for barcode scanning and wireless data transmission. Capacity figures here come from the product data — 3350mAh, 12.4Wh.
- NLS-NVH300 fit: The NVH300 runs a single 18650-format cell at 3.7V nominal. The connector pinout and BMS handshake match the original 18650CR configuration — the pack communicates state-of-charge to the device firmware without requiring any re-pairing or reset after installation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through scan-burst and wireless-polling loads simultaneously. The BMS held stable under combined inrush from the imager trigger and the 802.11 radio — no false low-voltage cutoffs at operating temperature.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell sits near minimum state-of-charge — a fully charged cell prevents spurious BMS trips on the opening scans of the day.
Cradle showing charging error on a new pack
The NVH300 cradle reads pack state through the contact pins on the battery door. If those contacts have oxidation or debris from the old cell, the dock may throw a charging fault even though the new cell is fine. Wipe the battery contacts on both the pack and the cradle slot with a dry cloth before reseating. If the error clears on the second insertion, the contacts were the cause — not the cell.
Scanner losing wireless connection during a rapid scan burst
The NVH300 draws from the imager and the wireless radio at the same time during a fast scan-and-transmit sequence. On a degraded cell, this combined inrush pulls voltage low enough to trigger the BMS cutoff or cause the radio to drop its access point association. A fresh 3350mAh cell raises the voltage floor under load — check that resting voltage reads at or above 3.6V after a full charge before running a high-frequency scan session.

Frequently Asked Questions
My NVH300 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?
The imager in the NVH300 needs the cell above a threshold voltage before the laser or LED array fires at full power. If the replacement cell shipped partially discharged, the scanner may power on but produce weak or failed reads. Seat the battery, place the unit in the cradle, and complete a full charge cycle before scanning. Once the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V, the imager drive circuit gets enough headroom and reads should return to normal.
The scanner runs noticeably warmer than it used to after a long warehouse shift — is that a battery issue?
Sustained scan bursts combined with continuous wireless polling push consistent current draw through the cell and the housing has limited airflow. On a fresh 3350mAh cell this heat stays within normal range, but if the pack is undersized or internally resistive, higher current forces it to work harder and generates more heat. Check that the cell voltage under load doesn't sag below 3.4V — a reading lower than that mid-shift points to elevated internal resistance in the pack rather than normal operating temperature.
The NVH300 seems to need charging much sooner than the old battery did — what drains it faster?
Two loads run simultaneously on this scanner: the scan trigger inrush each time the imager fires, and the wireless radio polling the access point every few hundred milliseconds. Together they shorten shift endurance faster than either load alone. Scan burst frequency matters more than most users expect — high-volume pick operations can double the effective draw versus occasional scanning. Confirm the replacement cell is fully charged to 4.2V before the shift and track how many scans per hour the job requires, since that figure directly sets how long the 3350mAh capacity lasts.
