Fits Nokia 800, Lumia 800, Lumia 800C, and related models; replaces OEM part BV-5JW.
3.7V and 1450mAh capacity delivers full charge cycles on this single-cell smartphone without voltage sag under modem load.
Connector slides into the original battery slot with standard Nokia contact orientation; no locking tab, seats flush against the door.
We bench-tested this cell on a Lumia 800 charge cycle; the BMS accepted the pack without fault codes and held 3.6V minimum under sustained 500mA draw.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve before detecting voltage drops.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia Lumia 800 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BV-5JW)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1450mAh (5.37Wh), built to the BV-5JW specification. It fits the Nokia 800, Lumia 800, Lumia 800C, and Sea Ray. It replaces the original cell when capacity fade makes the phone unreliable through a normal day.

  • Lumia 800 family fit: The 800, Lumia 800, Lumia 800C, and Sea Ray share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all four variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BV-5JW through full charge and load cycles on a Lumia 800. The BMS held charge termination at 4.2V and tripped low-voltage cutoff cleanly before cell voltage could drop below 3.0V under screen and modem load.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before resuming normal use. The Lumia 800's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve — a full slow cycle lets it re-anchor to the new cell before high-current charging starts.

Why the Lumia 800 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Lumia 800 uses a coulomb counter that builds its fuel map against the original cell's discharge curve over time. Swap the cell, and that map no longer matches what the new chemistry actually delivers. The OS reads a stale model, so it displays percentage that drifts away from real charge state. One full slow discharge to cutoff, then a full charge without interruption, forces the counter to relearn the new cell's curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. Under combined modem and AMOLED screen load, the cell's terminal voltage sags faster than the fuel gauge expects — the phone hits the hardware undervoltage cutoff while the OS still shows charge remaining. It happens most often during calls or video playback. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles so the fuel gauge IC can map the new cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve accurately; the shutdowns typically stop by the third cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lumia 800 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during extended storage, and the phone won't respond to a normal power button press. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for at least 30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell long enough to bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone can boot. If the charging indicator appears after that window, the cell is recovering normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the BV-5JW — the phone charges, but only slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the new BMS may not complete the proprietary handshake that authorises higher charge current. This is normal behaviour — the charge IC defaults to a safe low-current rate until it has profiled the new cell. Run one full charge to 100% at the slow rate, then disconnect and allow the phone to idle for five minutes before reconnecting the charger. Most users see full charge current restore on the second cycle.

The battery percentage on my Lumia 800 jumps around erratically — it showed 45%, then jumped to 12% in two minutes without me doing anything.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and temporarily loses track of state-of-charge between reference points on that curve. The erratic jumps narrow and stabilise as the counter accumulates discharge data across complete cycles. Run two uninterrupted discharge-charge cycles — screen on, no charging until the phone shuts itself off at cutoff, then charge to 100% without disconnecting. After the second cycle, percentage reporting should track smoothly within a few percent of actual charge state.
