Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-906 / One Touch 906 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB31K0000C1)
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell for the Alcatel OT-906 and One Touch 906 smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers CAB31K0000C1, TB-5J, and BY74. The cell measures 49.54 × 39.95 × 5.84mm and fits the original battery bay without modification.
- OT-906 and One Touch 906 compatibility: Both model names refer to the same hardware platform. They share the same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, so one cell covers both variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the OT-906 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC communicated normally throughout each cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, complete one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before resuming normal use. This gives the fuel gauge IC one complete reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before it begins tracking state-of-charge accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-906 after a cell swap
The OT-906's fuel gauge IC stores a charge map built on the old cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the stored map no longer matches actual cell voltage under load. The modem radio and display pull brief high-current spikes that drag cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even when the reported percentage looks safe. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted full charge forces the fuel gauge IC to rebuild its reference map against the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks actual capacity accurately.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first charge cycle
A fresh cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC on the OT-906 pushes current at its programmed rate regardless, so more energy converts to heat in the first few cycles as impedance drops. This is normal and tapers off after two or three full charge cycles. If the phone stays warm beyond the third full charge, check that the back cover is fully seated — poor contact between the cover and battery can trap heat against the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My OT-906 powers off by itself when the battery icon still shows 25% — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the OT-906 calibrated its charge map to your old cell's discharge curve, and that map does not match the new cell. Under modem or screen load, actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. Run one complete discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge straight to 100% without interrupting. That single cycle rebuilds the fuel gauge reference and the early shutdowns stop.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation — how do I recover it?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent charging a deeply discharged cell at full current. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 30 to 60 minutes without pressing any buttons. Most charge ICs apply a trickle pre-charge below the lockout threshold, which slowly brings cell voltage back up until the BMS releases and normal charging resumes. If the screen remains dark after an hour on a wall charger, verify the charger output is at least 5V 1A.
After fitting the replacement, the battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, drops to 40%, then climbs back up without charging.
Erratic percentage readings on the OT-906 are a fuel gauge IC symptom, not a cell defect. The coulomb counter is interpolating against a discharge curve profile that no longer matches the new cell's chemistry signature. The fix is the same calibration cycle: discharge the phone fully until it powers off automatically, then charge in a single uninterrupted session to 100%. Do not unplug partway through. After one complete cycle the fuel gauge IC locks onto the new cell's curve and the jumping stops.
