Fits Nokia 8110 4G and TA-1048, TA-1059 variants — replaces OEM BV-6A battery.
3.7V, 1200mAh (4.44Wh) lithium-ion cell restores full talk and standby time on this device.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab — slides in horizontally from the side.
Bench test showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion; fuel gauge IC initialized without fault codes or early cutoff.
On first charge after installation, use standard 500mA charger for one complete discharge-charge cycle before returning to any fast charge mode — the fuel gauge needs one full curve mapping against this new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia 8110 4G / 2720 Flip — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BV-6A)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Nokia 8110 4G and 2720 Flip. It fits models TA-1048 and TA-1059, along with two additional variants sharing the same BV-6A specification. If your original battery no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly, this cell replaces it directly.

  • 8110 4G and 2720 Flip compatibility: Both handsets share the BV-6A form factor, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake is identical across TA-1048, TA-1059, and the additional listed variants, so no firmware or hardware workaround is needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 8110 4G platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference curve against the new cell before normal use begins — skipping this step is the main reason percentage readings drift early on.

Why the Nokia 8110 4G reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The 8110 4G uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its capacity model from accumulated charge and discharge history. When you swap the cell, the IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory. It maps voltage readings against that stale curve, so the percentage shown on screen doesn't match actual charge state. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to write a new reference curve. After that single cycle, percentage accuracy tightens up considerably.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under modem or screen load — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge didn't predict because it hadn't yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve. The phone reads 25% on the gauge, but actual cell voltage under load falls below the protection threshold and the BMS cuts power. It's not a faulty cell. Complete the first full discharge-charge cycle described above, and the shutdowns stop once the IC recalibrates. If shutdowns persist past two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a loose contact raises internal resistance and makes voltage sag worse under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

It's most likely a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. If the cell voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage, the battery management circuit locks out to prevent damage, and the phone won't respond to a short press of the power button. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell before the BMS releases the lockout. Once the lockout clears, the charging indicator will appear and the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement — the phone just charges slowly now, even with the original charger.

The charge protocol negotiation sometimes fails on the first cycle with a new cell because the BMS presents higher impedance than the charger expects. The charger defaults to standard current rather than risk a fault. Run one complete slow charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — on the second cycle the BMS impedance has dropped and the handshake completes correctly. If fast charge still doesn't kick in after that, confirm the charger output is at least 5V/1A, as the 8110 4G's charge IC won't step up to faster current below that threshold.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it was at 60%, I made a call, and it dropped straight to 11%.

The coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't built a reliable model yet. Voltage under modem load is dropping faster than the stale curve predicts, so the IC corrects the percentage sharply mid-use. Complete one uninterrupted full discharge — let the phone run until it shuts itself off — then charge to 100% without removing the cable. That single reference cycle gives the fuel gauge enough data to smooth out the jumps.
