Fits Nokia 5.4 and replaces OEM battery HQ430.
3.85V and 3900mAh capacity restores full charge cycles on the Nokia 5.4 after original cell degradation.
Connector slides into the stock battery slot with spring locking tab — no adhesive removal needed.
We bench tested this pack on a Nokia 5.4 motherboard; the BMS accepted charge within normal parameters and held voltage under screen load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia 5.4 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HQ430)

This is a 3.85V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Nokia 5.4 and Nokia 3.4 smartphones. It replaces OEM part number HQ430 and restores power to devices where the original cell has degraded or failed. Fit models include the Nokia 5.4, 5.4 2021, and HMD 5.4 variants.

  • Nokia 5.4 and 3.4 compatibility: These models share the HQ430 cell form factor — same connector pinout, same BMS handshake protocol, and identical 3.85V nominal voltage rail. Swapping between these variants does not require any wiring or adapter change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Nokia 5.4 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC stepped through its constant-current and constant-voltage phases correctly at both standard and fast-charge rates.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current fast charging begins pushing current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Nokia 5.4 after a cell swap

The Nokia 5.4's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old cell after a swap. When the modem fires or the screen peaks at full brightness, current draw spikes and the new cell's actual voltage drops below what the fuel gauge expects at that state of charge. The phone interprets this as a critical voltage event and shuts down even though the cell is not empty. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and resolves the shutdown behaviour.

Device not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V before installation, the BMS will lock out charging as a protection measure. The phone will show no sign of life when connected to a charger. Connect the device to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. If the cell voltage recovers above the BMS wake threshold of around 2.7V, the charge IC will resume and the phone will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nokia 5.4 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the Nokia 5.4 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's state of charge under load. When the modem or screen pulls a current spike, the phone sees a voltage cliff and triggers an emergency shutdown. Run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging turned off and the fuel gauge will recalibrate — shutdowns at 20–30% will stop.

Fast charging stopped working on my Nokia 5.4 after fitting the replacement battery — it only charges slowly now.

The Nokia 5.4's charge IC performs a handshake with the battery's BMS on the first charge cycle. On a fresh replacement cell, this handshake sometimes defaults to standard charging until the BMS confirms cell health. Plug into the original Nokia wall adapter — not a third-party charger — and allow the first cycle to complete fully without interruption. Fast charging typically resumes from the second cycle onward once the BMS has logged a clean cycle.

The Nokia 5.4 battery percentage jumps around erratically — it was at 60%, then jumped to 40% with no warning.

Erratic percentage readings are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a cell defect. The coulomb counter is comparing live readings against discharge data stored from the old cell, and the mismatch causes the percentage to jump when load changes. Drain the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single full cycle, the fuel gauge IC locks onto the new cell's curve and the percentage stabilises.
