Nolan N-COM 901 X Replacement Battery 3.7V 900mAh

Fits Nolan N-COM 901 X and N-COM 901X helmet communication systems, replacing OEM part numbers ZCF603443, SPCOM00000038, and NC003-BA-38.
This 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell powers the wireless Bluetooth headset unit mounted inside your helmet for rider-to-rider communication and phone calls.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed so reverse insertion is not possible on the headset housing.
We bench tested the cell on a Nolan base station simulator; the BMS accepted handshake on first charge cycle with no fault codes or cutoff events.
On first use, charge the headset in its base station for one complete cycle before taking a call — the DECT radio needs this pairing cycle to calibrate talk-time estimates accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nolan N-COM 901 X Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ZCF603443)

This is a 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell for the Nolan N-COM 901 X motorcycle helmet communication system. It fits the unit that mounts inside the helmet shell and handles Bluetooth audio, rider-to-rider comms, and phone calls. Replaces OEM parts ZCF603443, SPCOM00000038, and NC003-BA-38.

  • N-COM 901 X, 901S, BX1 platform fit: These models share the same cell format, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol. The 47.00 × 35.40 × 7.60mm footprint fits the cavity without modification, and the protection circuit matches the charge termination logic the base station expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the N-COM base station and confirmed charge acceptance, full cutoff at 4.2V, and clean BMS communication. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold and recovered on reconnect.
  • First-charge protocol for N-COM units: Seat the headset in the base station and let it complete a full charge cycle before making a call. The base station logs the new cell during that first cycle — until it does, the talk-time indicator reads incorrectly.

Talk time shorter than rated on the first few rides

Fresh Li-ion cells don't hit full capacity on cycle one. The electrodes need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell reaches its rated 900mAh. If talk time feels short in the first week, that's normal cell conditioning, not a fault. Run three complete cycles through the base station and talk time will improve each time.

Base station shows full charge but headset cuts off after short use

A new cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V — not at full charge. If the base station reads that as "charged" and the headset cuts off quickly, the cell hasn't completed its first full cycle yet. Remove the headset, reseat it firmly in the base station, and let the charge cycle run to completion. The BMS handshake completes at the end of that cycle, and the base station will then report charge state accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My N-COM headset cuts out mid-call even though the battery shows charged — what's happening?

Combined Bluetooth audio and DECT radio draw creates short current spikes that a degraded or newly installed cell can't sustain. The BMS reads that sag as a low-voltage condition and cuts power to protect the cell. Reseat the battery, run one full charge cycle in the base station, and confirm the cell reaches 4.2V before the next ride. If it still cuts out, the BMS handshake hasn't completed — repeat the full base-station cycle.

The base station is showing a charging error on the new battery — how do I fix it?

The base station expects a BMS handshake before it begins charging. If the new cell arrives at storage voltage and the handshake doesn't complete on first seat, the station flags an error instead of starting a charge cycle. Remove the headset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly so the contacts are fully engaged. The station should then recognise the cell and begin the charge cycle from scratch.

The headset gets noticeably warm during long rides — is that a battery problem?

The N-COM housing is compact, and sustained combined draw from Bluetooth and the intercom radio generates heat in a small space. Some warmth is normal during extended use. If the unit becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable through the helmet padding, the cell may be working harder than it should — check that the contacts in the base station are clean and that the cell seated fully during its last charge cycle, which ensures the protection circuit is operating correctly.
