Fits HyperX Cloud Orbit S headset; replaces OEM battery part number FT823456P.
3.7V 1500mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 5.55Wh to power wireless audio drivers and DECT radio without mid-call dropout.
Connector seats into the headset battery bay with no locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion into base station; no fault codes on charge cycle.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a full cycle before taking calls — DECT platforms need the base to log the new cell before talk-time estimates are accurate.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HyperX Cloud Orbit S — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FT823456P)

This 3.7V 1500mAh (5.55Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the original FT823456P battery in the HyperX Cloud Orbit S wireless headset. It powers both the audio drivers and the wireless radio simultaneously. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power the headset at all.

  • Cloud Orbit S fitment: The Orbit S runs a combined load — audio processing, head-tracking sensors, and the wireless link all draw from a single cell. This pack matches the original voltage rail and connector so the BMS accepts the new cell without a firmware conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Cloud Orbit S platform. The BMS completed its handshake correctly, and the protection circuit held within spec across both low-draw playback and peak radio-transmit events.
  • First-cycle base station protocol: Seat the headset in the base station and run a full charge cycle before using it on a call. The Orbit S base logs the new cell during this cycle — skipping it causes the talk-time indicator to report inaccurate readings for the first several uses.

Why the Cloud Orbit S cuts out mid-call on a new battery

The Orbit S draws from one small cell to run audio decoding, head-tracking, and the wireless radio at the same time. Under that combined load, a cell sitting at storage voltage — around 3.6V — can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the headset showed a partial charge on the indicator. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. Running one full charge cycle through the base station brings the cell up to operating voltage and lets the BMS calibrate its discharge curve correctly.

Base station showing a charging error after fitting the new cell

The Cloud Orbit S base station reads a handshake signal from the battery's protection circuit before it starts charging. If the cell arrives at a low storage voltage, the base may flag an error rather than begin the charge cycle. Remove the headset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly in the cradle. If the error persists, connect the base to USB power and leave the headset docked for 15 minutes — the trickle stage will bring the cell above the 3.0V threshold the BMS needs to complete initialisation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cloud Orbit S cuts out mid-call even though the battery indicator shows charge remaining — what's happening?

The Orbit S pulls from one small cell to run audio, head-tracking, and the wireless radio together. Under that combined draw, voltage sags faster than the indicator updates, and the BMS trips the cutoff before the display catches up. This is a voltage-sag event, not a faulty cell. Run two or three full charge cycles through the base station and the BMS will recalibrate its discharge curve to match the new cell's actual capacity.

Talk time is noticeably shorter than rated after fitting the new battery — is the cell undersized?

Li-polymer cells ship at partial charge and need three to five full cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle the cell may deliver noticeably less than 1500mAh — this is normal electrochemical conditioning, not a defect. Each full charge-and-discharge cycle through the base station increases usable capacity until the cell stabilises around cycle four or five. Check talk time again after the fifth full cycle before drawing any conclusions about the cell.

The headset feels warm around the ear cup during long calls — is that a battery problem?

The Orbit S houses the cell, wireless radio, and audio processing in a compact ear cup with limited airflow. Sustained combined draw generates heat in a small space, and that is normal under extended use. The BMS will trip a thermal cutoff if temperature exceeds safe limits, which protects the cell. If the headset becomes too hot to wear comfortably, take it off and let it cool for ten minutes before continuing — this keeps the cell operating within its rated temperature range and prevents premature capacity loss.
