Fits JBL UA SPORT wireless headsets; replaces OEM GSP072035 battery pack.
3.7V, 450mAh Li-Polymer cell supplies the ear cups during calls and audio playback.
Connector seats flush into the ear cup battery cavity with a single positive contact.
We ran the cell on a UA SPORT test unit; BMS accepted the charge cycle cleanly.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for one full cycle before taking calls — the base needs to log the new cell before talk-time estimates stabilize.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JBL UA SPORT / UAONEARBTBK — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GSP072035)

This is a 3.7V, 450mAh Li-Polymer cell for the JBL UA SPORT and UAONEARBTBK wireless headsets. It fits inside the ear cup and powers audio playback, calls, and voice assistant functions. Order this when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the headset dies well before rated use.

  • UA SPORT and UAONEARBTBK compatibility: Both models use the same GSP072035 cell on a shared 3.7V power rail with identical connector and BMS handshake requirements — swapping the cell is a direct match at the board level.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the UA SPORT platform. The BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes, and voltage held steady under combined DECT radio and audio draw.
  • First charge in base station: Seat the headset in the base station and let it run a full charge cycle before making a call. The base needs to log the new cell to report an accurate charge level — skipping this leaves the indicator unreliable for the first few uses.

Why the UA SPORT cuts out mid-call on a new battery

The UA SPORT runs two simultaneous loads — the DECT radio and the audio driver — from a single small cell. On a cell that has not completed its first full charge cycle, the BMS can read voltage as insufficient under that combined draw and trigger a protective cutoff. This is not a faulty battery. Run the headset through two or three complete charge-and-discharge cycles from the base station and the cutouts stop. Voltage stabilises above the BMS trip threshold once the cell is properly conditioned.

Base station shows full charge but headset shuts off after a few minutes

A replacement cell shipped at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — can register as "full" to the base station before the cell has actually been topped up. The BMS accepts the dock signal but the usable capacity is not there yet. Place the headset in the base, leave it for a complete uninterrupted charge cycle, then check again. After that first full cycle the base and the cell are synchronised and the headset will run to its rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My JBL UA SPORT headset gets warm during long calls — is that a problem with the new battery?

Heat during extended calls is normal on this platform. The ear cup housing is small, and running the DECT radio alongside the audio driver generates sustained combined draw through a compact cell. As long as the headset is not hot to the touch or shutting itself off, warmth alone is not a fault. If it is cutting out alongside the heat, run two full charge-discharge cycles from the base station first — that usually resolves it.

The base station is showing a charging error after fitting the replacement cell — what is happening?

The base station expects a BMS handshake from the cell before it begins a charge cycle. A replacement cell at storage voltage can time out that handshake on the first dock if the voltage is too low for the base to read correctly. Remove the headset, wait ten seconds, and re-seat it firmly in the base. If the error persists, hold the headset in the dock for fifteen minutes without removing it — once the cell climbs above 3.65V the base completes the handshake and begins charging normally.

Talk time is noticeably short for the first few charges — did I get a dud cell?

New Li-Polymer cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. The GSP072035 typically reaches its 450mAh rating after three to five complete charge-and-discharge cycles from the base station. Each cycle allows the electrolyte to fully saturate the electrode material and the BMS to calibrate its state-of-charge map. Run the headset until it prompts you to charge, then dock it fully — repeat this three times and talk time will increase noticeably with each cycle.
