This is a 2.4V, 300mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the NorthWestern Bell 35500 and 35550 cordless phone handsets. It sits inside the handset and powers both active calls and standby operation. Voltage, capacity, and cell chemistry match the original pack spec.

Each full charge-and-use cycle unlocks a little more of the 300mAh capacity. By cycle five, talk time should stabilise at the level the original battery delivered when new.

Base station not charging the new pack — error or no-charge light

If the 35500 base shows no charge activity or an error indicator after a battery swap, the cell voltage is likely below the base station's acceptance threshold after storage. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly — a clean contact reset often clears this. If the base still won't initiate charging, check the handset contacts and base cradle for oxidation. A light clean with a dry cloth on both contact points is enough to restore conductivity.
