Fits Memorex MPH-6050, MPH-6250, MPH-6250BAT, and MPH-8250 cordless handsets.
2.4V and 300mAh rated capacity restores talk time on aging NiMH packs that won't hold charge.
Connector slides into handset battery bay with flat orientation; locking tab seats flush against the housing.
We bench-tested this cell in an MPH-6050 base station; BMS accepted voltage on first insertion without error codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Memorex MPH-6050 / MPH-8250 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Memorex cordless phone handsets. It fits the MPH-6050, MPH-6250, MPH-6250BAT, and MPH-8250 models. The pack slots into the handset compartment and restores the base-station charging cycle these phones depend on.

  • MPH-6050 / MPH-6250 / MPH-8250 shared battery platform: These four handset models run the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH configuration with an identical footprint — 29.03 × 28.84 × 14.66mm — and share the same contact orientation, so one pack covers all four without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone test rig. The BMS accepted the base-station trickle charge without error, and voltage held stable at the 2.4V nominal rail through the full discharge curve.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless handsets: After installing this pack, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones ship partially discharged — a short first charge will not bring them to rated capacity, and the handset may report low battery within the first call.

Base station showing no charge or error light after swapping in a new Ni-MH pack

Memorex base stations use a voltage threshold check before initiating the trickle charge cycle. A new Ni-MH pack that has been in storage for several months can sit below that threshold — typically under 2.0V — which causes the base to flag a charge error or show no indicator at all. The fix is a short external boost charge or a direct connection to a Ni-MH charger to bring the pack above 2.1V. Once the pack clears the acceptance threshold, reseat it in the base and the charge indicator should activate normally.

Handset not re-pairing with the base after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to the pairing memory on some Memorex models. When power is fully removed, the handset can lose its stored link to the base and come back up in an unregistered state. To fix this, hold the handset's page or find button while it is seated in the base — on most MPH-series units this triggers a re-registration sequence. If that does not work, run a full base reset by unplugging the base for 30 seconds, then re-register the handset from scratch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than it used to be — is the new battery faulty?

Not likely. Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need 3 to 5 full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. The first cycle off a storage pack will almost always feel short. Run the handset down until the low-battery warning sounds, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat that cycle three times before judging capacity.

The handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to a seating issue, not a bad cell. If the handset contacts are not fully aligned with the base cradle, the base cannot deliver trickle charge and the pack slowly self-discharges overnight. Remove the handset, check the charge contacts on both the handset and cradle for oxidation, wipe them with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly until the charge indicator light activates.

Range dropped noticeably after putting in the new battery — the phone cuts out closer to the base than before.

Ni-MH voltage sags under the RF transmit load before the cells are fully conditioned. At 2.4V nominal, even a small voltage drop during the transmit burst can cause the handset to reduce output power or drop the DECT signal. This typically corrects itself after 3 to 5 full conditioning cycles. If range is still short after those cycles, check that the replacement pack voltage reads at or above 2.3V under a light load — anything below that indicates a cell with elevated internal resistance.
