Fits Toshiba FT-3005, FT-5005, FT-7007BK, and FT-9007 cordless handsets; replaces OEM part number TRB-5000.
Voltage is 2.4V at 300mAh capacity—standard output for Toshiba DECT handsets in this generation.
Battery uses a flat connector block that seats into the handset battery compartment with a single locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell across multiple FT-series handsets; BMS voltage stabilized within spec after 90 seconds on base contact.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba FT-3005 / FT-9007 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (TRB-5000)

This is a 2.4V, 300mAh Ni-MH battery pack for Toshiba cordless handsets using part number TRB-5000. It fits the FT-3005, FT-5005, FT-7007BK, and FT-9007, along with two additional models in that range. The cell sits inside the handset and powers the DECT radio, display, and speaker between cradle charges.

  • FT-3005 / FT-9007 handset compatibility: These models share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack format and use the same connector and housing dimensions — 29.03 × 28.84 × 14.66mm. Swapping to a mismatched voltage would push the handset's charging circuit outside its rated input range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible analyser. The BMS accepted full charge without thermal event, and cell balance stayed consistent across the first three cycles.
  • First charge on a new NiMH handset pack: Place the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells at storage charge have not been fully formed — skipping this step leaves 20–30% capacity on the table for the first several cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partial-charge state to meet transport regulations. On first use, the cell's full 300mAh isn't available until it completes three to five full charge-discharge cycles. Each cycle lets the electrodes reach their rated capacity. By cycle four, most packs stabilise at or near their rated output.

Base station shows no charge light after fitting a new pack

Toshiba base stations use a trickle-charge detection circuit that expects to see a small voltage rise within the first few minutes of charging. A new NiMH pack from storage can sit below the threshold that triggers this response, causing the base to report no battery detected. Seat the handset firmly, leave it for 30 minutes undisturbed, then check again — the circuit re-samples periodically. If the light still doesn't activate, confirm the handset contacts and base pins are clean and making full contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Toshiba FT-3005 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — what happened?

When the handset loses all power during a battery swap, some DECT phones drop their pairing registration from memory. The fix is to re-register the handset through the base station's page or register button — hold it for three to five seconds until the handset finds the base. Check your FT-3005 manual for the exact registration sequence, which typically ends with the handset displaying "registered" or a solid in-range light.

The new battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — is the pack faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the charging pins make intermittent contact and the base never delivers a charge — the handset runs on battery all night. Lift the handset out, reseat it firmly, and confirm the charge indicator lights up. If the light doesn't appear within two minutes of reseating, clean the base pins and handset contacts with a dry cloth.

Range on my FT-5005 dropped noticeably after fitting the new NiMH pack — why?

DECT transmit power on these handsets is tied to supply voltage from the battery. A NiMH pack in its first few cycles hasn't fully formed and its voltage sags faster under the RF load, causing the radio to reduce power to stay within operating range. Run three full charge-discharge cycles and the voltage curve stabilises. If range is still reduced after cycle four, check that the pack is reading at or above 2.2V under load — anything below that suggests a weak cell.
