Fits Nubia Red Magic 5G and NX659J models; replaces OEM battery LI3945T44P8H526391 directly.
3.85V nominal, 4000mAh capacity delivers 15.4Wh to sustain gaming loads and full-day operation.
Connector seats flush into the battery contact pad; plastic locking tab prevents accidental disconnection during device reassembly.
We bench-tested this cell under 2.5A discharge; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without fault codes.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nubia Red Magic 5G NX659J — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LI3945T44P8H526391)

This 3.85V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Nubia Red Magic 5G (NX659J). It matches OEM part number LI3945T44P8H526391 and fits the same connector and physical footprint. If your Red Magic 5G is shutting down unexpectedly or no longer holding a charge, this cell addresses the degraded original.

  • Red Magic 5G and NX659J compatibility: Both model designations share the same motherboard, battery connector, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits both. No hardware modification is needed — the flex connector and retention bracket transfer directly from the original cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the NX659J board. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags. Charge current ramped normally through CC and CV phases, and the fuel gauge IC registered expected coulomb counts across the cycle.
  • First-cycle fast charge caution on the Red Magic 5G: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. The fuel gauge IC needs to calibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before the Red Magic's high-current fast charge pushes elevated current into an uncalibrated cell — skipping this step can cause erratic percentage readings for weeks.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Red Magic 5G after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. The Red Magic 5G drives a 144Hz display and a 5G modem simultaneously — both pull sharp current spikes. If the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, it reports a higher state of charge than the new cell's actual voltage supports under that load. When the cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V under peak draw, the BMS cuts output before the OS registers 0%. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge rate to let the coulomb counter re-map against the new cell.

USB-PD or Red Magic fast charge not activating after replacement

Fast charge protocols on the NX659J — including the proprietary 65W path — require the charge IC to handshake with both the cable and the battery BMS before enabling high-current mode. On a new cell, the BMS sometimes holds the charge IC in a low-current trickle state for the first partial cycle, particularly if the cell shipped below 3.6V. Plug in at standard USB current first, let the cell reach 50% charge, then reconnect with the original fast-charge adapter. The fast-charge indicator should activate at that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Red Magic 5G won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out due to deep discharge. Li-Polymer cells that drop below approximately 2.5V per cell trigger a BMS protection state that blocks normal boot. Connect the original Nubia charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until the BMS releases the lockout. Once the on-screen charge indicator appears, the cell is recovering normally.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically — for example, it reads 45%, then skips to 60%, then drops to 30% within minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell discharge curve. The coulomb counter in the NX659J was mapped to the original cell's internal resistance profile, and a new cell with different impedance characteristics causes the gauge to miscalculate state of charge. Run two complete discharge cycles — drain to auto-shutdown, charge fully at standard rate with fast charging disabled — and the fuel gauge IC will re-anchor its calibration to the new cell. Erratic jumps should stop after the second full cycle.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area during charging after the swap, even on a standard charger — is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few cycles. This is most noticeable in the first 5–10 charge cycles and decreases as the cell's impedance drops. Keep the phone out of its case while charging for the first week to allow heat to dissipate. If the back panel stays uncomfortably hot past the 15th cycle, check that the charge IC is not defaulting to fast-charge mode unexpectedly — disable it in settings and confirm the temperature drops.
